Greenline so far

Featured Replies

Awesome. Very impressed, and surprisingly lively too.

Driven thoughtfully, and a staggering, almost unbelievable 71 mpg on motorway, A road and  around town driving consumption today of just over 50 miles. :o

Wasn't sure I was going to like the stop/start technology, but it's almost unnoticeable.

DAB radio was also a pre delivery concern, but loving the extra channels now made available as a consequence.

Lovely to drive, and so un-intimidating.

Apart from the door mirror issues as posted elsewhere, spot on so far.

On the dash, so obviously not completely accurate, but all the same, the gauge has hardly moved!

Indeedeedo.

I drove a mk2 170bhp before considering this one, and yes it was a really perky thing.

I thought to myself, when do I actually give my car the bit of 'welly' that it would deliver, and the answer was, "not actually that often" tbh.

The only time the Fabia vRS was given 'the biffters' was on trips out and about on some of my favorite roads in N.Wales.

Most of my driving is locally on A's B's motorways and town centers, so absolutely no point in ragging around.

I may consider a re-map in the future  for the odd occasion when that bit of extra grunt might come in handy for long distance driving and overtaking.

I agree that the green line is a cracking car and I bought mine for the same reasons Mr Ree did. Trading in a Octy Vrs and not looked back.

My best mpg so far is 78.9

Won't need a re-map now anyway, as my vRS is back on the path, (DON'T ask or I'm liable to instantly combust :@ )  and even though I can't really afford it to be here, I'm actually quite chuffed...back where it belongs.

May have to sell the Fiesta now if I'm going to keep it.  :'(

Meanwhile, the Greenline is becoming more glorious the more I drive it....all 145 miles now.

So refined and peaceful.

Just need to sort out the sat nav instructions v radio  which I am actually struggling with a bit tbh.

May revert to my old Tom Tom tomorrow.

Seem to be avaraging the high 60's mpg every day so far, and that's with a mixture including town driving too.

I'm absolutely gob smacked, as I thought in the 'real world' it would be more like 50 tbh.

The other major plus now is that i REALLY no longer feel intimidated at the traffic lights anymore like I did in the Race Blue Octy vRS last year....as lovely a car that that was.

I just need a pipe and slippers to use whilst in it now, with a fluffy dog perched on the load area cover too p'raps? . :D

I've had my Greenline since August has now got 14k miles on it. Getting on average 60mpg, (from maxidot). Enjoy the comfort, I came from an Octavia Vrs, and impressed that a big car with a relatively small engine keeps up with the traffic. You only realise how good they are when you drive something else, currently a golf hire car, due to someone using my car as their brakes in a traffic queue and it's not a brilliant car, considering its a VW is not very well screwed together, my Skoda is far better.

I really was a bit pensive about purchasing this initially, and wasn't even excited in the least when collection day arrived, as I was trying to convince myself that I'd almost made the wrong decision, and that the car was for old codgers smoking pipes and doddering around at 35 mph on the motorway even.

Now?

Absolutely thrilled to bits with it.

Excellent car, excellent choice.

Think I'd have preferred that nice dark blue colour, but there was only this silver one with heated washers and sunset glass (which I did actually want) or a dark grey one with heated REAR seats available for immediate delivery from Grimsby docks.

Once I've made my mind up, I really can't be bothered with waiting weeks or months while they build it. I'm not that fussy.

I have noticed that the slidy  partition facilty thingy  in the boot isn't fitted anymore btw.

Thought it was standard on the Elegance, but willing to be told otherwise.

As above. I kept thinking that I had bought the wrong car.

Then, when I got it, everything changed. Brilliant car.

Takes an eternity to wash it though!

TWICE as long as the Fabia in fact..

Dreading polishing it, but with luuuurve comes responsibility and duty of care I suppose.

The last time I reset my Greenlines maxidot was at the last service just over 14,500 miles ago. Since then average economy (on display 2) tells me that I have averaged 66.5 mpg. Admitedly I am a very gentle driver and 90% of my driving is on the motorway at about 65 mph. I also rarely do short journies.  While the car does have a few shortcomings, poor fuel economy is not one of them.

N/S door mirror 'reverse mode' has now started re-adjusting itself into normal position as soon as I put it back into first gear.

Meanwhile, still absolutely luvin' it.

Maxidot mode 2 average consumption showing just over 61mpg with a high mixture of driving over 320 miles.

Just discovered the Stop /Start doesn't work when the air con is on.

Edited by Mr Ree

There are loads of parameters which influence when the stop/start function works.

There was a list somewhere, I'll see if I can find it...

Maxidot isn't actually that comprehensive now I've got used to it.

I was hoping to be able to set the radio to turn down automatically like it did on my Octy when reversing.

Can't turn the winky foglights off.

Can't turn the audible bleep bleep off when locking the car..............or am I just not looking deep enough here?

Meanwhile, the n/s mirror has now gone back to re-adjusting itself at 10mph . :wall:

You can't turn off the cornering foglights, but you can turn on/off the audible alert for when you lock / unlock the car.

The Bolero in my Superb reduces in volume when I reverse, are you sure it isn't adjusted via the stereo headunit rather than Maxidot?

I hate to say it, but there is always the manual...

Can you?  :o

I'll go and have another look whilst gathering the Skoda equivalent to War and Peace for further perusing.

Bet you were behind the inability to turn the cornering fogs off via Maxidot weren't you ey?  :D

Hehe, I wish!

Just checked the owners manual...

Comfort > ATA Confirm > On / Off

"Switch on/off the acoustic signal indicating activation of the anti-theft alarm system."

You sure it's not always been @ 10mph? Mine rises straight away but only if I turn off the car

Baffled.

Nit picking really I suppose.

I'm dead chuffed with it regardless, and a customer of mine (Hyundai dealership) actually complimented me on my choice today too!!

I nearly fell over after all the sarcastic comments I've been enduring this last week.

Found it under 'convenience' not comfort (doesn't exist) on mine....and it WORKED!

Tar muchly.
