  • The Greenline is a fabulous car. The economy is beyond belief and the engine surprisingly perky. I love mine.

  • You may be surprised, I compare my calculated mpg with maxi-dot and throughout the winter the maxi-dot was pessimistic not optimistic. My latest fill up was, actual 60.8mpg, maxi-dot 59.9mpg.    I a

I've had a greenline elegance estate here for 4,000 miles now (8,000 on it when I bought it).  Mixture of motorway & a roads mostly - more commuting of late too - 'real' MPG average is 63.  Thrill

Asked them had they done this (as requested) before delivery.

No was the answer

The salesman reckoned it couldn't be done, or in other words....he forgot to ask them to do it.  :wall:

My stop start works with the air-con on. Although mine is the S trim so I dont have climate control. Still an awesome car and perfect for my growing family.

There are loads of parameters which influence when the stop/start function works.

There was a list somewhere, I'll see if I can find it...

Conditions for the automatic engine shut down (stop phase):

The gearshift lever is in Neutral.

The clutch pedal is not depressed.

The driver has fastened the seat belt.

The driver's door is closed.

The bonnet is closed.

The vehicle is at a standstill.

The engine is at operating temperature.

The charge state of the vehicle battery is sufficient.

The stationary vehicle is not on a steep slope or a steep downhill section.

The engine speed is less than 1200 1/min.

The temperature of the vehicle battery is not too low or too high.

There is sufficient pressure in the braking system.

The difference between the outdoor- and the set temperature in the interior is not too great.

The vehicle speed since the last time the engine was switched off was greater than 3 km/h.

The front wheels are not turned excessively (the steering angle is less than 3/4 of a steering wheel revolution).

Conditions for an automatic restart (start phase):

The clutch is depressed.

The max./min. temperature is set.

The Defrost function for the windshield is switched on.

A high blower stage has been selected.

The START STOP button is pressed.

Conditions for an automatic restart without driver intervention:

The vehicle moves at a speed of more than 3 km/h.

The difference between the outdoor- and the set temperature in the interior is too great.

The charge state of the vehicle battery is not sufficient.

There is insufficient pressure in the braking system.

.....and that the cornering winking fog lights facility are not disabled.

You can't turn off the cornering foglights, but you can turn on/off the audible alert for when you lock / unlock the car.

The Bolero in my Superb reduces in volume when I reverse, are you sure it isn't adjusted via the stereo headunit rather than Maxidot?

I hate to say it, but there is always the manual...

It is on the head unit itself under settings/system or similar.  You can set the reduction in radio volume when reversing.

I did have a look but to no avail.

I'll spend a bit more time searching.

Give up.

What the hell is 'travel mode'

The useless owners manual says if you press it, it activates it

Whoope de whoop!

BUT WHAT THE HELL IS IT!!!!  :wall:

I'm sure you can adjust the rear parking sensors etc in MaxiDot - it's under PDC somewhere IIRC.

You can change the frequency of the beeps etc.

According to the Bolero manual:

Volume decrease for park distance control (PDC) *

If your vehicle is equipped with “parking aid”, the volume is automatically

decreased to a pre-defined value, when the “parking aid” is active.

Found it - in the Maxidot it's under Assistants -> PDC.

Assistants: The tones of the acoustic signals for the parking aid can be adjusted here.

Give up.

Think travel mode switches your headlights from RHD to LHD for driving on the continent so you don't need those stick on reflector things

Page 57 of the manual:

Tourist light

This mode makes it possible to drive in countries with opposing traffic system, driving on the left/right, without dazzling the oncoming vehicles. When the mode “tourist light” is active, the above mentioned modes and the side to side swivel of the headlight is deactivated.

The mode “tourist light” is activated/deactivated via the Information display in the menu:

  • Settings
  • Travel mode
  • Off
  • Switched on

You'll just have to trust the stop start. It does work quite well overall. Silver1011s list is good and covers most of the scenarios and after a while it becomes second nature.

Well please believe me, I did check the manual out. Looked under 'travel mode' and it didn't shed any light (if you pardon the pun)

Went onto maxidot (another stupid name imo)  again, and it simply sez 'activate travel mode', no actual explanation as to what it is.

Absolutely useless.

Who writes these things?

See. Even you weren't 100% sure either!

According to the Bolero manual:

Is this the manual that covers the sat nav, as I don't appear to have one for solely the wireless.

First quote was from Bolero manual, second from vehicle manual.

The actual setting and adjustment is done via Maxidot. Would check for you but don't have the Superb today, OH has it and i have the Mini.

I've just been flicking around my Columbus menu's and pdc can be found by pressing tone button and then volume settings. Presuming Bolero is similar.

Flamin dropping n/s mirror whilst reversing has stopped dipping again though. :wonder:

Mr,. Ree, have you checked that the wing mirror adjuster on the driver's door panel is set to "L" for left? I think it has to be in this position for the reversing mirror function to work

Using the same key as before? The seat settings and a load more stuff is linked to the key, so if you use the second key you might lose the preset positions

No I haven't.

Hadn't thought of that, tar.
