Who bought their car brand new and still has it?

Featured Replies

Bought almost new (05' plate) from main dealer in 06' with 9k miles.

Now done 63k and still going strong, one of the best value for money cars ive bought.

Bought my Mk. 1 Octavia 1.9TDi (110) L&K estate new in March 04, it was the 'run out' model with all the bells and whistles before the face-lift (car not me).  Just short of 110,000 miles now, gets serviced every 10,000 miles; nothing been replaced on the motor but for 3 full sets of tyres and a battery.  It never misses a beat and still returns 55 mpg.  I will drive my Octy until it is time for the great scrapyard in the sky.  I have driven other cars before and plenty since, in 30 years of driving, my L&K is by far the most comfy ride. Some cars offer now as extras what mine came with as standard fit 10 years ago.  My best 17k ever invested.

The Comfort never had roof rails as standard, this was solely for the Elegance model, some had them factory ordered or dealer fitted though.

Maybe that was it then - I wanted them added but wasn't allowed to...

I Bought my Octavia L&K 1.8T new in 2002. Right know it has 62,000kms

I alway use Synthetic Oil. Castrol Synthec 0W-30 (Made in Germany) change oil every 5,000kms sometimes every 7,500kms

I have replaced all 4 shock absorbers, bushings, brake pads, AC Compressor, Condenser, Evaporator, Water pump, timing belt, ATF Fluid & Filter, 3 door look solenoid, one electric window mechanism, valve cover gasket + other minor things.

I will say that the car is very good and I am very happy.

THX,

Isaac

I own'd the car previously for approx 4 years, from 32k & 18 months old and then sold it @ 98K in 2009 it to buy an Astra SRi 150 as I needed a Diesel. Then I found out in December 2012 it was coming up for sale, so i took the plunge and bought her back as my annual mileage had reduced.

Bought back on 108K, currently at 129K.

Bought the old Fabia VRS 30th. June 2005, now has 84,000 miles on clock.

Treat it to it's slightest and every whim, to keep it up-to-scratch sorta thing.

Change discs and pads every two years regardless there so cheap on E-Bay, and full service every year, all helps it to keep it that way..LOL
