Fabia vrs BLT engine Bhp

Featured Replies

Im going to get my BLT fabia, remapped and I've heard of some peoples BLT engines running more than 130bhp standard is this true ? If so post your standard proven and after map power stats please

Usually BLT's run around the 150bhp mark, my current on ran 154bhp and my previous ran 152bhp.

it's true. Most BLTs run between 140 - 148 ish.

Yup, stock BLT is normally about 140-150bhp, still only map to 170bhp though, but with a much smoother power curve.

Oh okay I've seen someone's standard fabia run 166bhp standard then with a map it went to 204bhp

Your mistaken the vrs for the 2.0 petrol bud.

MK2 maybe? :-/ Not heard that before

I'd say its true going off what others have said and experience. When I was in the market for a vRS I drove both variants and the newer BLT ones seemed to give that little more when opening up on the road. As said above though both remap to similar power.

That rolling road is over-reading by 30bhp

If pub talk figures is what its all about then great.

In reality the car had 133bhp then had 174bhp

But you can't say that you don't know what every car is running a lot if people have had there fabia vrs running 140+ standard with the BLT engine

Power figures from rolling roads can vary a lot. Some under read, some over read and others are fairly close to being spot on but they should be taken with a pinch of salt as they are only as accurate as the tool operating them among a host of other variables that can knock the readings out. Even tyre pressures or the car being strapped down too tightly can influence the readings... so make of that what you will. I can guarantee that if you were to run that same car again the results would be somewhat different!

Really they are a tool used for remapping and diagnostic NOT for giving power figures, they can work out a power figure from the torque put down at the wheels and rpm. It's the AT THE WHEELS figure on that graph I would be looking at... I bet it's not that dissimilar to other stage 1 maps that show ~170bhp @ the fly. Looks like the math used to work out the transmission losses to get the higher @ the fly figure is fairly off!

I have a Jabba rolling road print for my BLT, which states 161 bhp & 260lbft. I would say, the car has NOT been mapped as it does not show the usual eagerness of a smooth remap. I would be honest and say it's a definite overread, rolling roads are generally never accurate. I'd say high 140's bhp possible 150bhp.

My Golf tdi 130 was mapped to 180; boy it felt like it!

Get together at a meet, and drive another members car to feel the difference

I think it's safe to say that car isn't running 200+ bhp on a stock turbo
