Octy 4x4 1.8T Elegance - proud new owner...

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

Just thought Id say hi; picked up a 52 plate Octavia 4x4 1.8T Elegance Hatch privately today after looking for about a week! A best mate bought one a few weeks back and I was so impressed I though it was about time for a change myself. I drive a highly modified 310bhp/330lb/ft Focus so I was a little doubtful the performance side of things would be enough to keep me happy but I have not been dissapointed so far! :D

The Octy has 19,000 miles on the clock (FSSH) and is in immaculate condition - it could almost genuinely be described as 'as new' condition tbh.

I am the third owner, the first was someone at Skoda UK (not a dealer) and they saw fit to have the VRS badge put on the front grill and remapped to VRS power levels (so a rather useful additional 30bhp). Everything else is standard.

The colour is the maker or breaker; the girlfriend is giving me the cold shoulder and a few friends have already shown their disgust ;) BUT I love it and thats what should really count. In case your wondering its Ocean Green.

Im looking to see about further enhancing the engine map to around 210bhp/225lb/ft and then lowering the suspension a tad (say around -30mm)

I have already enjoyed browsing Briskoda and look forward to spending a lot more time here in the future,

Lee

Hi Lee - thought I recognised the username from a certain other car forum *cough* FFOC *cough* :D

Used a Focus owner myself, before converting. I saw the ad for this a couple of days ago from JBS - you certainly snapped it up quick :)

Thought it had a bit more than 19k on the clock though

So have you sold the Focus now then?

Steve

*cough* Copycat *cough*

I picked mine up on Tuesday and he was so impressed he bought one 5 days later! :)

I do like the colour though!

I'm dying to get better seats on mine though.

Oh right, so you bought the JBS one?

Nice to have more 4x4 owners on here.

Wardy, I didn't think JBS were selling one, are you getting mixed up with Jabba's estate that was up for sale?

Dr.Octavia, check my gallery for pics of the seats I've fitted in mine.

No, neither of us bought the JBS one, I got mine from a dealer and he got his privately.

I don't know who bought the JBS one, but that looked like one quick motor!

Yeah, I was well impressed with the R32 seats! Can't afford those myself so I'll probably just go for some Golf GTI cloth recaro's, I understand they slot and plug straight in! :)

Yes Golf Mk4 Recaros fit fine as that's what I had before the R32 seats!

I've attached the only picture I can find which isn't great I'm afraid.

Hello guys, in answer to the question; the Focus is still mine so it didnt get replaced. Im going to see how the Tavia progresses before making decisions about which to keep etc.

I was chatting to a mate late last night and it occured to me that around seven years ago I bought a two and a bit year old 1.25 Fiesta for

Welcome

Look forward to a few pics of the work in progress

Welcome from another 4x4 hatch owner, dark blue with no mods yet!!

Think I could be the only one in Norfolk, unless anybody knows different. :)

Welcome from me too, Briskoda's original 4x4 hatch owner... ;)

 Nice colour! ;) I'm based in North London so you're probably right. When we went to buy Lee's Ocean Green one, the guy selling it knew of a local bobbie who also had a dark blue 4x4 hatch, however, that was down in Kent.

Noticed that there was a 4x4 with only 20k miles on ebay last week , dealler in Kent , ldid not sell as reserve was not meet. Ocean Green i think 2 years old looks like he wants

That's the one Lee bought.

Sounds like Lee has got himself a real bargain. I've had mine for a year now and still makes me smile every time I drive it. My initial reaction was usual thing about suspension hieght but I don't have to worry about speed bumps or flooded roads etc. and thats a big plus around my area. Just recently come across some new accessories like " 4 x 4 " sill protectors and Vrs style metal pedal covers, specificly for Octavia, not to mention all the existing stuff available!
