  • Sounds like you need another Fabia.                   A nice bathroom green one.

Well tomorrow night I've got wheels coming off and gonna give them a quick refurb in the evening also would like to address the issue I've just noticed in the picture above of one mirror being matte and the other gloss!

What process have you got planned for the wheel refurb, interested :)

As they are only steel wheels it will be a quick blast off with the jet wash and a wheel cleaning brush then I will let air out and manage to get some masking tape behind the rim to mask off tyre! Attack it with my wire brush drill attachment and sandpaper for what it will not reach then clean all that off a quick coat of rustbuster FE123 then primer followed by 3 coats of black spray finally lacquer them!

Got a tipoff that my local scrappy might have a Fabia up there so I plan to head up there before work see if any hubcaps and "aged"badges are up there!

So the wheel refurb didn't happen due to me having to head off to a mates breakdown call!

Well the Fabia has had nothing done to it but a Blackvue install and is unlikely to for a while now that my Van will be written off!

So recently I've not done much to the Fabia! All that has happened to it is the daily commute with 2 washes per week and I also removed the gold pin stripe on the passenger side which has made it a lot cleaner line IMO other side to do tomorrow apart from that all is quiet as the Clio has been my main project to get ready to move it on!

Cleaned the two cars today! Found that some b***** has hit my windscreen when it was parked up and has cracked it! I'm picking up parking dents like crazy! Looks like I'll be using the Clio for a few days before I get it sold! ynapyta5.jpg

I don't remember spraying plastic before I assumed it's just the normal clean surface and flat it so it's got a good key to adhere to?

Yep flatten it as much as you can or try to remove the chrome coating. Just use a few extra coats of lacquer after :)

Right so repaired a keyed scratch with a touch up then sprayed my grille and am really happy with the results!

Also did a pretty poor repair on some lacquer peel as a temp measure the badges need changing now though! Didn't re stick them as I plan to replace this week

Well I popped around to my dad's house and was surprised that he noticed and really liked it so looks like I'm doing his vans one except in satin black and also his Corsa one in blue

Looks great :)

I'm really happy with it! Turned out very well! Much better than the chipped chrome!

New badges will finish it off nicely

Yeah not sure whether to keep it with original style or the new style at the minute!

Hmm that will be a tough choice. I do like the new style badges :)

Right at £20 a badge on a 11 year old workhorse I thought why? That's nearly a tyre from camskill or is a weeks fuel for both badges so I've left that alone now I might get a couple of used ones in good condition if I see any up the scrappy dirt cheap but am not really bothered! Got some hubcaps I had lying about on today! However this week I've not used the car! I had the windscreen replaced mid week but am using the clio which isn't doing half bad at the minute so I'm at a point where I don't know anymore whether I reduce the price and make a loss on Clio or keep it and make a project out of the Fabia and stop the more expensive track van project for the time being!
