I've been going backwards here! The idea of the Fabia was to be a cheap runabout and workhorse replacing the Clio, but I've been using the Clio again however it must go so I can keep this lovely car! In the meantime took it to town and back pulled up along side a neighbour started chatting he said your cars leaking petrol! Brilliant a hole in the filter, no worries spare in the garage, removed old one and black petrol poured out fitted new one and it runs better

Do love being on the back of a tow truck! Decided to take this to pickup some stuff from machinemart and ended up breaking down on a hill as EML light came on then it started juddering up a hill before eventually cutting out! Camshaft Position Sensor wire has ripped out of connector! None of my spare parts or tools that I carry in the back would've fixed it!

I don't mind! Bear in mind it's an 11 year old car so will never be perfect! It's a good little runabout and I'm more than happy to keep it going!

Losing love with the car! It's broke down twice in 2 weeks and has cost £300 in repairs so far still more to do when home! Seriously thinking about something that I can commute in, has enough space to hold all my gear for motox and tow a trailer, it will also be taking me and the girlfriend Surfing, skiing and she even wants to join me on motox! I need a serious think!

Ohh dear :( the old Fabia is no more! The wiring insulation broke down wires melted and fused together frying components! I am absolutely gutted :(

Yes two sets of wires were rubbing against a sharp plastic edge in the cable trailing! I've got a few options now! sell, scrap, 1.8T or the unrealistic option of a new loom and components and cable trailing! You can guess which one is my favourite idea

aye :p , im guessing you were just unlucky to be honest, mymissus has had hers over 4.5 years now, only issue electrically we've had was gammed up probes in the coolant resevoir, new resevoir sorted that np. i still remember the guy we bought it from originally being reluctant to sell it as was his pride and joy for a workhorse . even now as i drive my 1.4tdi i still enjoy a good drive in the 1.4mpi, such a smoother ride. (not that its hard considering the tdi is a 3pot haha).

Yeah that's just life it could have happened at any time to anyone

So I've been persuaded to do a 1.8T conversion on it, so I started with some rear end weight loss

Right so the plans are : Strip the car down

Respray in same colour which I shall do myself

1.8T conversion

And finally dependant on funds at the end of the project a WRC kit
