Engine crane looks pretty chunky, should be more than enough for the 1.8T Engine I was looking at getting a Clarke low profile, quick lift, 435mm of lift (75mm->510mm) 2t Trolley jack from Machine mart, for £120

 

sure beats my current Clarke jack which only has 208mm of lift. its a PITA messing about with jacking it to a height, getting a stand underneath, then jacking it up more with a block of wood to get the extra height.

I like the fact it has 6 wheels where as the 1T has 4... the tarmac on my drive is level, but the frost has got to it so the extra points of contact will help.

 

I figured I'd need to hire one 3 times (1.8T out, fabia engine out, 1.8T in...), may as well buy one and then I've got it.
