Is an 'A' frame an option? Not sure on the rules for them myself

Possibly but I've heard they're horrible to drive with plus the car still has to have insurance tax and mot as it has wheels on the ground

i guess a new pair of trousers were needed after too! :o

Yes, was an interesting moment.

I remember steering into the oversteer as the trailer tried to drag me sideways.

I ended up blocking the road with the back two wheels of my Defender about 30cm off the floor where the trailer was on it's side.

Blocked the road for over an hour, had the highways agency out to check for road damage and everything.

Other Defender badly damaged?

Broke it's wing mirror glass.

Oddly it landed on a grass bank exactly on it's side.  No real damage at all.

Cleaned it up, stuck it back on ebay and made £1,000.  Enough to cover the fine.

Lucky escape. :D

Ahh so then it was just the points :(

Hell of a lucky escape though I've seen trailers drag vans down banks and hills etc rolling them

It'll just need to be a braked one.

Rigging them up can be quite a faff.

I thought if you use one the car has to be insured and road legal

Ay yes i remember now i used to have a BMW e30 that i had as a drift car , sold it short after because of these reasons as it wasn't finically viable at the time and the octy wasn't heavy enough to tow it

I thought if you use one the car has to be insured and road legal

Ah, issue right there then. :(

Exactly I've not got a hope in hell of getting a modified car insured for a while because of my age and the 3 points don't help either

again, were in the same boat! only option is to make it road legal so as a Fast road Track car and wait it out until you can afford the insurance!

Got 3 points too? :happy::notme:

You're just about within modified car insurance age

I figure trailer test and trailer are your only hope then currently

Unless you can access a transit sized recovery truck.

Still, looking on the bright side when it is finished you'll already be able to insure it...

By time you have built it though if you take your time your points may have cleared

 that's true the issue with the trailer and trailer test is that I'd have to drive a larger engined vehicle which really wouldn't be easy to insure! Might ask around locally about a recovery truck for sale so I can recover the clio myself :notme:

ehem, clean license after 3 years ;)
