Recall for my Fabia VRS mark 2

Featured Replies

Had a phone call from my Skoda dealer today saying they have a recall on my Fabia VRS Mark 2 for a gearbox oil and filter change.

Asked why this had not been done at the annual service last week and told they had only just got the parts in.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Booked work to be done next Thursday

Yep,

Several threads exists on this topic.

Skoda UK raised a note to dealers back on the 5-8th May.

You are not alone.

I feel a bit left out on this recall business. Iv a 2011 cave and the only phone call iv had was last week for its mot. Is it because it's out of manufacturers warranty? :( I want new gbox oil and ecu updates :(

We also got a phone call from the dealer today about a recall for gearbox oil and filter. Will pop in and see them tomorrow.

Your dealers aren't reading the "service campaign" properly then as there is no filter to change.

New oil, software update and a roadtest to reset stuff, thats all.

You're right; dealer didn't actually mention it so no idea why I added that in...

Probably because when you change oil, you normally change a filter too :D

No, nothing to do with warranty.

Just contact your Skoda Dealer, give them your car's Vin No. and ask them to check out if it is due for the DSG oil service campaign.

Alternatively, enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in the following website page: http://www.skoda-auto.com.kw/service/recall-campaign.  It can usually be seen somewhere at the bottom of the windscreen from outside the car.

Top advice guys, thanks.

Entered the VIN number onto the website link above. There is a recall campaign from my VRS.

I had mine done when i got some warranty work done, (or not got any warranty work done, shock has a misting of oil, not enough to be able to change it under warranty!)

since then, the box has been a complete pig imo,

i swear the software update has changed something. very random down changes.

at a traffic light the other day, in D came to almost a stop, box changed down to first by its self. i floored it, got up to the top of second gear and the box changes down to first?!

I was told my car needs it, it seems that there are many negative comments regarding the DSG oil change, if this is the case I'll hold off with getting it done

Morning chaps.....I had mine done and all seems fine, in-fact, gear changes seem smoother. I'm not sure any software changes where done, just gearbox oil change.
