Where best place to look as close to Staffordshire as possible

I don't want just a map put on to my car and left like that I want it adjusted to my engine as all engines arnt the same

Where would people say is the place to go??

I would suggest Shark Performance, gives 295 ibft and 170hp :) and i hear its a smooth map thats easy on the clutch

I went with a Shark Performance remap and the self tuning system, very easy, top service and over 10k miles the map seems great for me.

I have a shark map loaded via sts unit.

Very happy with it.

Another one for Shark here. Got nothing but praise for it!

Another one for shark here. Got mine last night and haven't stopped smiling since!

I'm curious about this also, having just picked up my Fabia VRS this weekend.

Is anything else needed other than the re-map, such as upgraded parts? My brother had a VRS and his car seemed to fall apart very quickly after having his done.

I'm based in Milton Keynes, but willing to travel for the best option.

As long as you go for a reputable map which gives nice smooth power delivery you should be ok.

The other thing I would consider upgrading fairly soon-ish after the map is probably the brakes. With more power available you're probably going to want to stop a little better as well ;)

If you didn't want to travel too far from home though I'd definitely recommend going to Unit 18 in Milton Keynes for the map. I've been running it now for the past 18 months, covered 15000 miles and it's been faultless! Nice smooth power delivery up to the red line with minimal smoke, and also had the EGR mapped out so I no longer get the horrible 2000rpm 'splutter' that the Fabias are renowned for.

Thanks for the response. I know people love the place, but I had a pretty bad experience with Unit 18 when I took my Seat there and so I would rather avoid them if I could.

Is there anywhere else with 50 miles or so that people could recommend?

And are just uprated discs and pads enough to cope wit the extra power?

Clive at CN Tuning is about 70 and shark are about 90 miles from you.

You would be fine with uprated discs and pads, but bigger brakes look nicer ;)

AP-Automotive in Teford do Shark maps. Im on my second on my second Fabia and wouldnt go anywhere else . It pulls smooth and hard all the way to 4500. Ran my first Fabia for 55000 on the same clutch until i sold it and this ones doing fine. You wont regret a Shark map !

Very tempted by Shark Performance I must admit, plenty of happy customers it seems. The STS unit seems a good idea also.

Yes, big brakes do look rather pretty. :D

Unit 18 actually uses Motech as to carry our their customers mapping, so rather than going through a garage you can always go direct. They're only based in Earls Barton, so not far away from MK at all! :)

I'd still rather go with the big brake option! You can find a setup reasonable cheap on here, plus as mentioned, they look so much better behind the wheels!

Bit further away but faboka's map is very good. May be worth looking into as he can send it to you also

My current map is from unit 18. I have a dyno'd day on Sunday so will finally find out what power it's running.

It is a nice clean map which I have been complemented on around different race tracks as it hardly smokes at all

R-tech in Hinckley

Another vote for Shark Performance.

Recently had my SE mapped by their Scottish dealer Brotek and honestly can't believe the difference its made.

Car runs so much smoother and pulls like a train to the redline.

Thanks for the info, looks like a visit to Shark Performance in the not too distant future.

I just want to uprate my console bushes first, any pointers on these?

Rob at w8 performance is doing a group buy on super pro bushes at the moment :)
