Alloy Gators fitted to VRS Gemini wheels

Featured Replies

I would imagine they would be like me old iPod classic which has lived all its life in a plastic case yet the chrome on the back is still buggered from dust getting between the cover and it and fretting. I'm sure the same would happen here but far worse looking how dirty my wheels get in a few weeks.

Keeping well away from kerbs has to be the best bet?

My wife never scrapes her alloys when parking at the side(?) of the road...mind you I do have to walk to the kerb everytime...

Reversing into a parking space, now that's different...always use the bouncy kerb at the back of the car to find the edge of the space then leave it there with the tyres squashed hard against it!!

I agree with the highjacking of this original post on Alloygaters. It seems neily got carried away and changed the subject. And my comment to SK UK will be the rims look good, but have an unforunate design for everyday use. And no they weren't chosen as an option. End of conversation I hope.

Although I've been aware of these for some time, I've just had a "Euraka” moment and will probably get some to cover the dubious silver rim on my Fabia's Comet wheels. I can see my son picking a bright colour with zero impact on insurance (unlike neon alloys).

For all those who doubt the effectiveness of alloygators, I hit a pothole this morning. As you can see the damage was extensive. It's cost me a new tyre, but there is no damage to the rim. Definitely worth the money.

Lets see the rim under the gator then....

Has anyone fitted Alloy Gators to their VRS Geminis?

Are they any good? What protection do they offer?

Alloygators should keep thieves at bay, but watch that they don't try to eat you as well if they get hungry

I knew someone would ask. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to take a photo. You'll just have to take my word for it. Needless to say, I'm of the opinion that it's money well spent.

Agree. I just wished they were more resistant to scuffing than they are. Mine will stay on until these tyres expire and I fit more suitable ones with the built in protector.

seen one of these come off made a right mess of wing on car, just avoid curbs its cheaper

Finally had Goodyear F1 aysemetric 2 tyres fitted to my Gemini's on the front. After 13 months of having to knock the Alloygators back into position at least once a week due to, I assume the original Bridgestone's flexing, as the harder I drove the quicker they worked out.

There is definitely a slightly greater recess for the rims on the Goodyear( although not great). Hopefully its enough.
