Thanks, Gizmo, but if I haven't got one handy?!

Get one of your wifes hair clips. Cut off the bobbles and straighten each leg.

may need to bend the very tips in toward each other slightly but it works a treat

Got one and been trying to get it out since you posed that, c3po :(

Do I go at it from underneath, or where the wires come in at the top?

I appreciate your help :)

Gimme 5 mins I will go take out my headlight switch and double check

Yep from the bottom. But with these plugs you also have ro prize the little black clip outwards. The smaal individual clips that run along side the plug. The ones you can see in your picture, look a bit like piano keys. One end is fixed thenotherbend is not. Small screwdruver to lift the tab a little asbyou use the hairclip in the bottom then give the wire a littlebtug. Should pop out easily. :-)

This is my current set-up, but still won't pull out

Am I being:

A - Extra special

B - A pansy and need to pull harder

Maby you need to wiggle the hair clip a bit more. Or maby my technique is honed lol I have used this methd for years. Try bending the ends of the clip inwards a little more so it looks a bit like a mini litter picker

Im at a loss matey. I literally just went out and poped one out in seconds. Are you pushing it in far enough?

Hey that looks like my writing on the labels LOL

Novel way to do it, I did provide scotch loc connectors didn't I

Suggest you solder them though.

... and it was about time I put your awesome hard work to some use :D

The clips clamp around the wire you want to tap into, and the end of the wire from the module slides in one end. Then you use  a pliers to clamp the metal tab into the plastic moulding which cuts through the sleeve of the wire. Then you fold the plastic clip over the metal tab to seal it.

Hope that makes sense

Scotch locks 0_o

Work of satan.....don't do it ! Only marginally better than just exposing the wires and "twisting around them" :peek:

If you're desperate the straight through connectors and stick two wires in one of the ends! :notme:

So from the above picture, the black and white wire stays in the connector, goes through the Scotch Loc, the new red wire comes in from the top, I clamp the silver thing on the loc down/through the two wires with a pliers and remove the sticking out, un-connected red wire from the bottom as it's no longer needed et voila?!

You guys don't agree with this method?

All looks good up until this point but don't understand what you mean by the rest ?

They work but soldering is better !!
