Fabia Elegance 1.4 16V

Featured Replies

Mk1 Fabia Elegance 1.4 16V

First registered 22/09/2000

Number of former owners 4 (I am the 5th owner)

Colour Metallic Midnight Blue

I acquired the car on 13 09 2012 and since owning I have had the console bushes replaced along with the passenger side CV joint and carrier arm

A new aerial has been installed as the old one was causing a leak into the headlining

It had the typical rear footwell leak, which I have since sealed on all 4 doors

I have recently replaced the air and pollen filter along with fitting Bosch multi-electrode spark plugs (supposed to be good for another 100k miles)

Currently running on Mobil 1 oil

It has electric & heated mirrors (these have been replaced and are now black as the previous owner damaged them and just taped them up, I will include them in the sale if required as I still have them.

It has the elegance rear spoiler

Two flip remote keys

Locking Petrol filler cap

14” Elegance alloy wheels

MS402 RDS tape deck (note: this unit seems to stick on tape, it wont move back to radio, I have a brand new grundig tape deck included in the sale (I used the tape deck to connect to my phone)

Anti-Slip Regulation

Electronic Differential Lock

Centre brake light

Mystic beige interior (as named by briskoda :p)

It has air conditioning, last serviced over a year ago so is due for another service.

Full electric windows all around (with one touch facility), note the passenger side electrics aren’t working at the minute, I believe they need new motors (available for about £15-30 each)

Chrome doorhandles

Front and rear foglights

IT HAS HEATED SEATS, fully working – I absolutely love these!

Rear heated windowscreen

Multi-function trip computer detailing fuel left, mpg, instantaneous mpg, time, alarm, average speed etc

Electronic boot release (including mechanical lever inside the cabin)

Alarm [Has no chirp at the minute, I believe the siren is faulty, however when triggered the lights illuminate to show the alarm has gone off.]

Central locking

Folding rear seats

Height adjustable drivers seat

Passenger storage section within the front passenger seat

Immobiliser

Air conditioned cubby holes within the glovebox and by the steering wheel

Note, the centre two vents have loose slats so they don’t open with the dial, I believe they can be reinserted if the module is removed

Colour coded bumpers [i have a facelift bumper available with the sale to convert the front to the newer style fabia]

Currently there is a problem with the car, I believe the J500 controller has water inside as the ABS, ASR, PAS, air bag and handbrake warning light illuminate with a reoccurring beep – I have tried changing the clocks in the vehicle however this didn’t work

Very economical, using short journeys I can average 120-150 miles to £20 of V Power Nitro

When on long journeys The car can hit over 50mpg, I have maxed out at 62.8mpg (according to the trip computer

Its an ideal first car for a younger driver as the engine has 100bhp using a twin cam 1.4 16v engine – which provides enough power when you need it, because lets face it – if your about to have an accident a 1.0 nissan micra will not get you out of the way quick enough!

My insurance on this car with 0 NCB was £1100 fully comp with every extra on the insurance (£900 without), this has dropped to £900 now (£700 without the extras)

Tax on this car is £140 a year, I think it was 77 for 6 months this time round

Full service history by SKODA up until 50K

From then it was maintained by the previous owner who had a large amount of maintenance work performed on the car up until I received it [i had the clutch and a few other bits done since owning it]

I have ran the car on Shell’s V Power Nitro Unleaded for over a year now and it has cleaned the engine massively, performance and economy. The car used to struggle up hills in 2nd, after using the nitro fuel for so long I can now manage most inclines in 4/5th.

Current mileage is around 97K, I have owned the car since 88K

There is a slight chip In one of the rear light clusters [as a stop gap repair I used a sealant on it as it was letting water in]

There is a slight judder in 4th gear between 30-40 mph, this doesn’t occur anywhere else in the rev/speed range, I took this to SKODA to diagnose but they couldn’t find anything wrong and told me not to worry!

The car has VRS door cards on as i was in the middle of a conversion to black (the originals are included with sale)

The service history consists of the following:

07/03/2014 Purchase of temperature sensor for the car (yet to be fitted due to personal commitments)

14/03/2014 Purchase of battery clamp (old one snapped), fitted to the car.

Does no one want to fix up ellie? :(

Shes a cracking car!

very thorough advert, good luck with the sale the car looks quite tidy, just a shame about the J500 Controller.

Have you looked into how much it would cost to repair it? it maybe worth fixing prior to sale?

If the air con works I'll give you £500.

But only because it's got a mystic beige interior. ;)

Tempted as a fixer upper myself. Need a run about and it fits the bill.

I bought a new PAS pump for mine a while back, cost £250 exchange.

The wiring loom has burnt through causing damage to electrical components :(

Ah insulation breakdown? Sounds bad, has it fried everything?

Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk

Repair cost is more than the value of the car which is a bit gutting! Yeah insulation broke down electric tape melted everywhere not good at all! I'll be honest I was lucky to get back home in the thing!

Offers anyone, willing to let go if you can collect for £300 as im moving house and its a little on the large side to fit in the removal van...

"Currently there is a problem with the car, I believe the J500 controller has water inside as the ABS, ASR, PAS, air bag and handbrake warning light illuminate with a reoccurring beep – I have tried changing the clocks in the vehicle however this didn’t work"

Cheap enough car @ £300, tell me about the above problem. Does it drive ok, everything work connected with the lights, and do the lights go out or stay on? Would it need to be trailered away?
