My dealer has just advised me that the 7 speed dsg box in my 1.2 tsi Roomster may need an oil change. Hitherto Skoda have been silent on this worlwide problem with the 7 speed dsg box which has been recalled in several countries by VW.  The synthetic oil, where used, can cause a short circuit in the control unit resulting in a blown fuse and loss of drive.  The fix is to fill the box with mineral based oil - my understanding is that this is not being treated as a safety recall but will be addressed at a normal service visit!

A1's and A3's have a campaign out for these issue drain gbox oil refill carry out software update then basic set and adapt the gbox! I thought it would be across the board surely??

Perhaps it is but since not a recall it is being kept low key.
