MK1 vRS 90k

Featured Replies

I have seen quite a few Mk1s with 90K+ miles on them, how long will these engines usually go on for?

seen an absolute peach of an SE with 90k on it but not sure if I really want a car with so many miles on it, although my current MK6 fiesta has 85k.

Miles and miles and miles and miles... If serviced correctly i believe.

90k isnt at all high mileage from one of them.

But then its not just the engine that wears remember. Its all the bushes and other components too.

My mk1 Octy vRS is currently on 98k and feels like it will keep going.

I know the PD engine in the Fabia is essentially that from a tank, and will keep going provided you look after it. :D

If looked after properly they should easy see 200k plus.

Thats what I thought, there is a lovely blue SE with 90k full service history on it and a sunroof (pretty sure others have seen it as well on autotrader etc).

Dad has a 1.9TDi golf with 80k+ on it and is as sweet as new pretty much (apart from a random leaky rear caliper).

Im not a fan of the sunroof fitted to that car.   90k isnt alot for a well serviced/looked after car, there is a couple of vrs se's for sale on here in the classified section if you didnt already know.

175,000 over here!

Im on 98k and so far I've replacerd my suspension due to a snapped spring, console bushes to cupra ones and I've just bought a set of discs and pads as the originals are starting to look a little tired.

Have had a look in the classifieds on here, but everyone with an SE (or generally everyone selling) seems to be down south and don't really think I want to drive all the way down south on a possibility.

But anyone selling one up near Manchester would be good ;)

Mines got 123k and feels like new after a good service, engines last longer these days

Those engines are lasting longer from those days. No saying yet how more recent Euro 5 emissions will do. There will always be good ones. And also horror shows. Electrics will kill more modern cars. Because rust is a thing of the past mostly.

Seen a few mk4 golf's on 200k plus on the 1.9pd

You will usually find that enthusiast owned cars are well looked after and can be better than from a dealer.
