Dog Crate to fit 2010 Elegance Estate

Featured Replies

Can't find a search button so my apologies if this question has been asked/answered before.

Can anyone recommend a dog crate that will fit this car (I've removed load cover and tray thingy beneath to maximise available space). The slope of the rear window and rear seat combined mean that we cannot use our existing crate (rectangular from 2002 Golf estate ). I've been looking at Savic and Trixie dog crates online, which slope both front and back, but they are only sold through wholesalers and I would really like to try a crate in the car before purchase as I'm trying to get the biggest crate possible (for Labrador) and the margin for error is small. I have considered a tailgate guard (e.g. Barjo) but don't really want to drill into trim as we will hopefully upgrade to an Octy3 when prices drop in a few years. I have emailed the manufacturers direct plus Petplanet and a few others, but none will advise on what crates fit which cars!

Hello mate.

A mate of mine who is a police dog handler has a crate made by this company. It may be worth your while giving them a call.

Hope this helps.

I have a crate made by MTM which has a sloping ends with doors front and back. It fits well in my Octavia II Estate unlike a precious rectangular one although it does need raising to allow a door to be opened without fouling the boot sill. I do that by putting a polystyrene corner piece from washing machine transit packing under each corner. I can't find any mention of sloping end dogs cages on MTM's own website but they do make them for pet supplies firms. I will try and track down where I bought it and the size.
