  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

The big plus is the insurance is nearly exactly half what I paid for my Merc :)

You can't start it like that. If they can pinch your phone, they can pinch your keys. The only difference is the App is password protected.

Am i right in thinking its keyless anyway?

Good idea if it is. Saves you finding the keys and most people have their phones in their hands anyway dont they lol

Mine is Keyless go etc, but that wasn't standard sadly. BMW's connect drive thingie is quite useful. it takes a little while to set up, well it did me :D but the integration of car and phone is pretty clever and reasonably useful to boot :) The connected app has lots of widgets and tells you things like amount of fuel left, odometer and range on your current fuel, as well as set up an App like Twitter (not that I am going to bother with that one, who needs an automated tweet to let people know you are in your car and going somewhere). Presumably more Apps will be added with time?

Dunno. They have been making Micras with it fitted as standard since about 13 years ago. I assumed VW had caught up with the tech too?

Are you comparing your M135I and Micra on desirability by thieves?

I was comparing the Golf with the Micra, but didn't know whether it was a sophisticated as the Nissan?

So what is the actual invoice price of a 135iM as specced like the one being talked about here? Money to buy not leased.

Edited by goneoffSKi

I'm looking at an almost fully specced model apart from Harmon kardon music thing and with 2000miles on the clock on a 14 plate @ £25950!

Awesome value for a sub 5 second 0-60 car with an engine noise that is blooming great :)

That is an example of bad residuals if some private buyer had been the buyer at new rather than a demonstrator. What was it's full purehash price 2,000 miles ago?? Bargain now. Worth buying if a keeper and with the service package.

BMW CONFIGURATOR, will do it for you. I think Amanda got about 11% discount on the FL model ( options?) . That was with PCP type deal, I believe not cash.

Full retail was £36k with the options list it has!!

Someone is taking a hit but then that is the reason I never buy brand new cars! :)

They gave me a copy of the vehicle delivery thing and options listed so it was a genuine figure what discounts you get not too sure on. But even if it was around £33k its still a big hit, the annoying thing was it was only 1000 miles two weeks ago but they lent it to a customer that had late delivery on her new car and she drove all over the country and smacked a whooping 1500 miles on it :( and damaged all four wheels :(

I'm in negotiations on the price at the moment.

Thanks Tom

There's only £2250 manufacturer support for this car Keith and the dealers have a quite strict cap on the amount of discount they can give. But you should be able to get over 11%  The interest rate is a tad higher on a PCP for the LCi model though :(

But the good news is if you take a PCP there are a couple of options that are of interest.

I wanted a 3 year deal, but the sales manager said I should look at a 4 year deal. OK, I thought, lets see what he has to show me. it works like this.......take a 4 year PCP, but settle at say 3 years. The amount owed is exactly the same at the 3 year point, the monthly payments are exactly the same in both examples, but in my case the deposit was £1,300 less using the 4 year model!!! Result. I guess it's because the depreciation starts to level out more over the 4th year and so the GFV is proportionately a little higher, hence off setting the monthly payments, or in my case (I wanted to keep the payments at a predetermined level) the deposit comes down.

The other interesting point, is you can nowadays make over payments to the finance company without penalty. So if you bung an extra £1,000 in at a later date on a 3 year PCP, you should expect at least a £30 a month drop (or possibly more depending when you make the overpayments)

Price was 'big' thirties and I got slightly more than 11% in the end :) (not worked the extra saving into the haggle discount if you see what I mean) thanks to a bit of manipulating the PCP figure from 36 months to 48. The Voluntary termination point at 3 years is exactly the same whether you take the 36 months or 48 months PCP (actually the 48 months is about £17 cheaper :D ) but the deposit saving is £1,700 over the deposit required for the 36 month PCP assuming all things are the same otherwise :) I will probably still change out of the car at around the 36 month point give or take a little.

Works so well it isn't apparent :D can't really appraise it's usefulness until the car is run in and ready to go properly. But as it produces peak torque from something like 1,300rpm, being in the wrong gear isn't really a problem. Would like to drive the none predictive gearbox to compare though. it does seem to keep the engine singing (it sings at surprisingly low revs thanks to it's inherent straight six-ness :) ) a little more than I would have expected in Sport mode, but as I said, I'm running at half throttle and 4,500 rpm max.

Btw I was making the point that we don't own KISS cars anymore

Is that car on the BMW used website  or on Autotrader?

I think you must secretly want an M135 Keith............

At that 'much cheapness' they are q real steal. Not something you would expect BMW would want. This particular one is very cheap.
