Picked up my M135i today- gentlemen get your Kleenex ready for some car porn...

Featured Replies

Had a chance to get the M135i on the Rollers at the weekend with a few mates at a rolling road session we organised.

My car returned a healthy 325bhp. Bit gutted my mates M135i was 341bhp tho lol!

First vid is abit of fun, second one shows each car doing a power run and I've popped the bhp figures on there for you.

Hows that then? White a faster colour?

  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

Must prove white is the fastest haha! No idea, both cars are standard apart from M-performance back boxes on each. The white car has 16k on the clock whereas mine has 10k so maybe it's abit looser as a result? Or he was cheating and had race fuel in it.... ;-)

They are supposed to be 326PS so mine is about right at 325 bhp. I guess some are just abit pokier than others! Having said that I doubt you'd notice a difference that small on the road.

Ahh youre 1 short ;).

Do you run yours on premium fuel all the time then? Or just 95?

Sorry double post

Nah I'm not short -PS and bhp aren't exactly the same. ;-)

I always run it on super. Just for the extra pops and crackles you get form the exhaust lol!

Hope you like:

Haha yeah I've seen that vid a couple of times. Bet he felt daft spinning it on the first corner but sounded like he was having fun! You have to give this car some respect with the traction and stability turned off or it will bite you if you just floor the throttle on a tight corner.

I'm taking mine to Bedford in a few weeks to do "How Fast", can't wait. Hopefully won't do what he did lol.

Tom,

You might need to check out the long term weather forecast, so that you might be able have a dry track. Hate for you to do a Jeremy Clarkson!!(Grass adventure)

Thanks for the concern Keith ;-)

No point checking the forecast tho really, it's booked and we are going come what may! You might be surprised how good the M135i is in the wet. Certainly fun lol.

I won't be doing 150mph with the driver aids all disabled in the wet so shouldn't be any clarkson issues.....

Not so Squeaky Bum day (More Fun)

Tom,

Looked like a bit of a Squeaky Bum day (Fun) :

What a nutter! Driving around the 'ring when it's that wet with the traction/stability off is asking for trouble surely. Although I feel he may have been playing up to the camera slightly with some of his dramatic steering inputs....

Personally I'd never risk my M135i on the 'ring, wet or dry. I'd absolutely love to buy an old beater and take it over there though!

Always interesting to watch videos of a 'wet ring'.

My favourites to watch are of a Briskoda Member with his Black Weapon of a Fabia vRS in the wet.

I wonder how his lap time is in the rain compared to the squirmy Bavarian Pusher, it certainly is much more in control.

What ever tyres and tyre pressures that BMW are running should act as a warning to others not to use the same on wet roads. (unless demonstrating 'dramatic steering input'  or just how lucky you were to get away with being a d!ck on a wet ring.)

  • 2 weeks later...

My poor M135 has stood for 2 weeks and now faces another week going nowhere. I think I need to give myself a bigger Shot in the arm when I get back to driving it. Perhaps a Sports Zorst is what I need after all :D Especially as I am working at Silverstone in a month or so's time and need to turn up with something makes people smile a little bit (what with all the high powered bikes and big V8 that no doubt will be there). Don't want to let the Baby Beemer side down :)

I assume you still love yours Tom?

Here's a question. I read something in a paper recently that had 'cars that are coming shortly' and included not only the M2 but also an M1. Surely they aren't building an M1 are they?

Keep it standard, makes you standout, in a the noisy Silverstone crowd.

Subtlety, K.I.S.S.

Savings will help with the next set of tyres, after you have driven the pants off it ,catching up on lost time.

Absolutely, no more mods planned at the mo but still love driving it. The noise is so addictive. The pops and crackles on the overrun from the M-perf 'zorst are just hilarious. Makes you feel like you are 17 again lol!

Had a call from my local dealer this morning offering me a very good deal to get me into a new one (LCI).

Basically just a straight swap into a new 65-plate in Sept with no cash from me and actually a small reduction in my monthly payment. Ummmm decisions decisions.......! :-)

So is the face lifted model not selling very well then Tom?

Yours is hardly run-in @10000 MILES.

Is the exhaust transferable?

Might be well worth it if you save money. Cut the zorst off and away you go in an LCi :) Sounds like a win..................unless you fancy the M2 ;)

I'm running on Shell Superdooper at the moment and although I haven't noticed any improvement in performance or economy, it does make a few more popples n stuff :) Was in a friends TT RS a few days ago and figured that maybe I could live with the MPE  after all. Didn't think I could, but it's now beginning to seem rude not to do it :D

New LCi gives you LED lights, Adaptive ZF (if you go auto) and some new software (not sure if yours had auto updating Maps and GPS tracking built in?)

Having a an exhaust pipe for every cylinder would be excessive, but having one pipe for every 3, is K.I.S.S. in my book ;)

I've been to Silverstone many times over the years, including the time I worked on the Rally stage there and had my own Scooby. It was the first time anyone actually realised what I was driving ( thank you, you bobble hat wearing mavericks, whoever you were). I have always enjoyed the experience more if I am driving something that makes me feel more part of the crowd, at least while I'm sitting stationary in the traffic jams.
