  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

You spend more time in the M135 thread than it's originator and he actually owns the car :D

Old farts are of course welcome, especially if your car makes a farting  4 pot noise :)

Originator, (Tom) currently spending more time on car .Fitting louder (Noisy devices ) and then making appropriate videos on local roads and associated sounds.

I'm waiting for his more detailed internal video / sounds ,under various modes and loadings.

Thanks Tom, for the early rough cut video you PM'd me last week.

Hope he hasn't fallen out with the neighbours yet.

Some neighbours have it much worse.

There are too many 1.0 litre corsa's with chav blasters hanging onto the back.

An m135i is a nice sound and they should appreciate, if they dont, theyre just ungrateful ;).

I've been able to hear an R35 GTR from my bedroom before now, it brought nothing but a smile.. Haha.

That's very surprising/clever :) Any idea how it works?

IDrive Opens a Wifi link with the camera. :-)

A mate of mine uses it on his car as he has Pro Nav. Don't think I can get the App on my poverty spec business Nav so I just take my iPad mini in the car with me and can control the camera with that over wifi. :-)

Wifi. I haven't even looked at Wifi. Wonder if my car can do anything clever with it?

I get some time off in a couple of weeks, so will try to investigate if there is anything I can gain from possible Wifi.Car will be run in enough to go 'Squiggle hunting' as I now call it :)

I have to say the Pilot Super Sports are superb. Their wet grip really surprised me :)

Yeah the wet-grip is brilliant! Just grips and go's and inspires a lot of confidence. Far and away higher level of traction than our FWD Fabia, wet or dry. :-)

I was travelling at speed in sodden conditions (but safely I believe)  last week going cross country to the North East and tried some fairly hard braking into corners (with wide run offs just in case etc etc ) just to see if the car would plough on. It didn't!! :)

(The amount of disclaimers you have to use these days so internet warriors don't have a pop at you is ridiculous :notme: :D )

That is right about the deposit. It was £1,300 not £1,700. Error made because I also mentioned £17 pounds in the above post and the number was stuck in my head

Definitely not fallen out with the neighbours :-)

The M-performance exhaust has taken what was already a fantastic noise and made it simply stunning imho.

The truly great thing is the extra noise can be switched on or off at the flick of a switch....

In comfort mode it's no louder inside than stock. In fact I would go so far as to say its actually quieter than stock on a cruise, absolutely zero drone.

When you put the car into sport/sport plus the exhaust really comes alive and sounds like an absolute beast. Quite aggressive deep tone with lots of pops and crackles on the overrun. Delicious.

Once you are done playing switch back to comfort mode and it's all very civilised again.

Another major bonus is the fact the M-perf exhaust is an official BMW accessory so retains full warranty in the car. My insurance only went up by £15 for the entire year too so a mega win-win in my book :-)

I worry about the start up noise of the MP zorst. Even though it calms down pretty quickly, the stock exhaust is quite lively.

Yeah it is pretty loud on a cold start. Luckily I don't leave for work toooo early most days.

Ah, I often leave for work about 6-7 on a Saturday and Sunday morning :D

Don't worry the neighbours will love it ;-)

I'll see what they think of my tyre smoking departures first :D

Just dont bother using the disclaimers.

I find it funny to watch em get all hot headed about it haha.

Here's a thing. Not having had any proper days off for the last 4 weeks, my car has gotton pretty mucky, so I visited the jet wash at my last fill-up. I was stood by the left hand exhaust pipe and was jet washing the right hand pipe, but interestingly I was wearing a skirt and had bare legs. Interesting because as the water squirted into the right-hand pipe, the condensed steam shot out of the left hand pipe and soaked my legs :D :D

Lesson: don't wear shorts or skirts if you jet wash your M135 pipes

Although I don't recall my Merc or Audi doing this and I think they were connected at some point of the exhaust into one single pipe. Perhaps it's the short back box that caused it. It was interesting though and a sensation I wasn't expecting at the time as can be testified by the man washing his car beside mine.

You listening Tom?

Remember to not wear your skirt when you're washing your m135i mate ;)

Haha.

Well I suppose shorts might have the same effect ? Maybe the MP has some sort of baffley thing in the box to stop that happening. They are very clever these German engineering bods :)

Unfortunately the BMW garage would only offer me peanuts like a grand under we buy any car! For my vRS so had to end negotiations :(

Good news I managed to negotiate a good deal on a brand new prereg, Fiesta ST3!

So no BMW for me.

Now just need to get myself up to Matlock near Derby to finish the job only 4 1/2 hrs each way.

Enjoy your new motor, shame the BMW dealer didn't want to deal!
