Greetings, everyone. Is 250bhp realistic?

Hi

My wife & I are venturing into Skoda ownership soon(ish). Is everyone enjoying the forums & are they useful?

I find Pistonheads really good...

Cheers,

Burnsie.

in which car mate?

fabia=possible with extreme mods and bucket loads of money

octavia=easily done with fairly common mods

:)

Welcome

Which Skoda model are you thinking of?

In the Octavia vRS 250bhp is easy to achieve with 'relatively' few mods (exhaust, intake & custom remap should get you to over 230bhp). In a Fabia vRS you would have serious problems getting much above 220 bhp or so.

If it's a Fabia  Allard's can give you 265 bhp for a few quid.

I'm running with around 190bhp which cost

Hello and Welcome:D

Earm - 265 bhp for a few quid - I'm guessing you mean 165 there Shifty? ;)

Unless you mean a few grand :D

Octy should be very easy to get up to those figures.

Welcome,

250 is achievable, perhaps, just. It's right on the edge of the envelope for normal tuning, before turbo changes etc. Certianly mine is not producing that and I've done about as much as one can pre turbo change.

I hope the forums are useful ;)

Cold Air Feed, CAI - 100-200

Turbo Intake Pipe, TIP - 100-150

2.5" Downpipe 100cel cat + back box -

Money doesn't frighten me...coppers with lasers do though

I doubt you will realistically see over 240bhp from a stock K03sport turbo as they just can't flow enough air high up.

True there are many claiming higher figures but I would think they will see a wide margin of figures from different rolling roads.

I got 240bhp with just a boost controller and remap from Jabba, running 99 octane fuel. Would be able to get past 250bhp with exhaust, FMIC etc., but SWMBO has put her foot down now.... ;) and not on the pedal either...

EddyH once got 254bhp with his K04 Golf at Jabba, shame it only read 220bhp at JBS!!

Thanks for the good news :-)

By the looks of things we'll be going down to the lads @ jabba's!

Remap, induction kit, exhaust, boost controller and dump valve look to be the order of the day. Oh, and better/larger brakes! :D

No need to budget for bigger brakes ;)

Just change the pads and fluid, car stops fine on competition pad compounds.

Oh tyres will give you a little extra aswell ;) not looking forward to taking my dunlop's off :(
