Skoda Octavia Elegance Satnav no SD card

Featured Replies

I do have an Octavia Elegance 14reg on hire but no SD card for navigation. I do have to go abroad and phoned hire company about the card. They said if it is not in the vehicle they do not have it.

Could anyone tell me what to do? I am desperate to make that satnav work!

Thanks

Miklos

If you have the Amundsen HU then nothing is going to get the satnav running as it requires a specific Skoda SD card which has the required certificates embedded to enable the HU to read the card.

If you specified satnav on your hire contract then I'd suggest returning the car for another one with working satnav!

Did you pay by card ? if so call the card company and cancel the payment then call the hire firm and tell them where you parked the car cause it ain't your problem.

If you didn't specify satnav on your contract hire, here's a very important lesson, lets hope it ain't too expensive for you.

There is another thread on here where it was tested, proved you can swop SD cards between cars. Ask if they have another Skoda with the same HU you can take one from.
