Can't deny it,they are good.Just lacks the exclusivity the last RS had.How many of those do you see on the road?

It is the new XR2 /XR3.Everyone will have one .

And?? I don't buy my motors for exclusivness. I buy them for the enjoyment I get driving them. No one on here drives an exclusive car (unless there are owners of exotica on here)

I want one but I don't want to get tied down with finance at the 'mo.

Im unsure as to how exclusive vRS's are these days........

They aren't exclusive anyomore. I see umpteen Furby/Octy vRS's on the road nowadays. When I bought mine just over 2 years ago I hardly saw any.

I do :D not many people sad enough to drive a fast good looking skoda yet.Although things are changing ;)

I'd still buy new octavia vRS over ST partly because people still get shocked by smart skodas (I know some disagree on the new one) and I like that :)

I never do track days so I wouldn't be looking for best track/road car which I'm sure ST is if you are nurburbugburgringing

Er there are plenty on the roads now. I drive up and down the country to go home and back and I see loads, not to mention the shed loads I see locally. I love my Octy but I like to try new things (misquote time :D ).

Wasn't there a joke about doing an Austin Princess or something

I've had Talbot Samba,MG Metro Turbo,Rover 216,2 escorts,nova sr,a tigra,golf gti,2 audi A4's

I'm not loyal to anyone :D

a tigra

You where brave to admit that

It was typed in mini type so it looked like Ford Mustang

I've done my Ford days. Can't get excited.Even if it stuffs a golf gti out of sight I still prefer the new golf.Need a big boot though so skoda will get the cash :)

as nice as the focus is I need to see it in the flesh...if I cant get my fly rods in the boot its no use to me...the big plus point of the Octavia is its boot..I like a fast car with a boot

And now Glasses Guide has predicted residuals for the ST-2 at 1 point above the Golf GTi and 3 points above the VXR. With strong residuals and big discounts there is a compelling case for the Ford!

Strong residuals? Fords? Can't see that happening!

As you see earlier in the thread, brokers are already offering them at below list. A surefire way of getting more people to buy them. The more people that have them, the more there'll be around in a few years time on the second hand market. And when there's choice in the 2nd hand market, residuals suffer because there are more than enough suitable vehicales to satisfy demand.

I as many Octavias as Focuses (Foci?) I see less RS and ST170 versions than I see vRS versions. In fact, they only ever made 4000 of the Focus RS?

Octavia exclusive? About as exclusive as Maccy D's.

And then we get to the bit where you say you'd still have the vRS over the ST. I remember not so very long ago that members of this forum were busy patting themselves on the back for buying an excellent, fast car that was a bargain. Now what's happened to us? Are we so blinkered by our loyalty to Skoda that we can't see a new benchmark has been set for bargain performance?

Badly worded, sos :) I meant the Ford Focus RS.I have only ever seen one in the flesh.Same goes for the Escort Cosworth

Seems a tidy car, and they are using the Volvo based engine that goes in the S60R. SO in theory this car can be mapped to 345hp with no other mods.

Not true in any shape or form, the best your get from the st is 250/260bhp from a chip allow

here's a few difference between the s60r/ and st lump

bigger turbo

2 intercoolers

bigger downpipe/zorst

wider engine

all internal parts are stonger/forged etc

different air intake/filter

lower compression ratio

Judging by your name dave... do you perchance own a s60R?

If so what do you think of it?

lol, yes your right! i do own a s60r 04, in flash green

yep seems like a good built car, best handling volvo, volvo have ever made, awd good on the wet roads, very good at twisty stuff, (helped by the 4c chassis control), for a big heavy 4 door saloon.

plenty of torque lowdown for acceration, but also has a good kick higher in rev range, general a good allround package.

are u thinking of getting one?

dave
