just asked my tyre guy if 205 55 16in tyres fit the fabia he said that they will rub on inside any thoughts

They're the wrong size. They will rub on the n/s wheel arch, your speedometer will be out and I doubt your insurance company would be too happy.

 

Fit the correct sized tyres.

Also, 205/55/16s will look kack

 

You'll get away with 205/50. Might get ABS issues if you don't change all 4 at once.

yesssssssss a long time ago. Those wheels never stayed on the car with those tyres; in fact the original 14" alloys are on the other side IIRC. Got 205/45/16 RS2s and 3s on now

tyre leader and camskill are definitely the cheapest sites I've came across for tyres. That's obviously not fitted, my garage charges £10 a tyre for fitting and new valves

I've looking for E30 tyres (stupid size, limited choice, overly high prices :( ) and http://www.clickontyres.co.uk/ seem best on price.

 

(For a RainSport 3 in 205/55r15 anyway)
