2007 MkI Fabia vRS, one of the last standard pre-SE models. I know that there is an easy way in order to cancel the service reset having done it on other [German] vehicles. Because the car now has an on-going service pattern as opposed to set intervals how can I cancel the message on start-up?

 

Also any advice much appreciated on tyre choice [standard 205/45 x16] I have some cheap dealer fitted on the fronts and they are trash provoking too much understeer and poor wet weather traction.

turn off ignition, press and hold the trip reset button, switch on ignition (not start), hold button down for 10 seconds until - - - is displayed followed by the trip readout.
