Bolero radio help (A7 version)

Featured Replies

I picked up my new octavia SE last Monday and am getting frustrated with the radio.

I have 2 issues I would like help on.

1. Firstly loaded my audio onto new 32Gb SD card in folders (Artist/Album/Track) and expected to be offed selecton for a list of Albums, Artists, Genre etc but it dosen't seem to offer this. So though i would create some playlists created ok and can see the listed tracks but if I try to play them it says cant find file. Can someone upload an example of a working playlist and tell me how it was created.

2. Radio station logos. I have created logos in many sizes and file formats but cant get any to appear on the radio again anybodies working example they can upload.

I know these have been talked about many times before but many seem to be for older models of the radio and can't make any solution work.

Have you ensured that all the metadata is embedded into each mp3 file as that info is used by the radio.

Yes all files have the data and work on my other mp3 players

If you are saying that I should be able to select a genre for example can you give me a button sequence to do it I can't find it in the manual

I think there'll be some other mk3 owners along shortly with more info!

Radio station logos found here

Try reformatting the SD card to NTFS rather than FAT32

Tried the linked logos but no joy can anyone post a logo from their mk3 octy bolero

Formating to ntfs also makes no difference so can any one post working example of play list

Have you got at least one mp3 in the root dir?

I suspect the format of the track details in your playlist is wrong (it took me some time to work it out). Here's a sample of mine that works on a Columbus:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:202,Jethro Tull - Living In The Past
Music\Folder 019\0001 Living In The Past - Jethro Tull.m4a
#EXTINF:288,Pet Shop Boys - Left To My Own Devices
Music\Folder 009\0002 Left To My Own Devices - Pet Shop Boys.m4a

The important part is that the file location is relative to where the playlist file is. Also bear in mind that it will only play 1,000 tracks in a playlist.

For the radio logos, are you applying them to your presets? You can only add logos to stations stored in your presets.

Hope this helps.

+1 to this.

Just tried downloading and applying the logos from the first link and it works fine on mine.

Go into the radio settings, station logos, then apply to your presets.

It *is* a bit irritating you can't just magically apply to everything.

Ohh - that brings back memories......... ;-)

This is a new format to what I have been trying so fingers crossed.

Can you elaborate on "file location is relative to where the playlist file is" Do I need to put the play lists on the root or can I put them in the "music" folder in your example.

I have not tried this when inserting the card it always found a track and started playing even with the tracks in folders so did not think this was relevant.  That said maybe it is worth a try.
