Hey guys, I took advantage of the good weather and decided to vinyl my grille and badge today, what's your opinion?

How did you wrap the surround?

I've got Plastidip but don't know if I should try wrapping it first.

Love the number plate, the last three letters make a statement... Lol

Front end looks great too.

I bought some vinyl to protect my sills from little feet (my three year old daughter), but where it bends around a curve, it keeps coming away. How on earth do you get it to fit around shapes? Do you have to use a hair dryer or special heat gun or something?

Thanks guys, I cut a peice of vinyl big enough to cover the entire grille leaving around 3/4 inches all the way around, smoothed it out carefully starting along the top, you have to carefully work on smoothing it out along the shapes with a hairdryer/heat gun. It becomes much more pliable and easier to work with warm. Then the nerve wracking bit was taking a scalpel to it. There are a few mistakes and I might redo it at some point. Sealed it by going over it on the highest heat with the dryer. The badge I'm planning to remove and plastic dip it instead as it's extremely difficult to vinyl wrap it but I like the look of the all black.

Did not realise you had done the grille as thought you could get dechromed ones. When I had my bluevrs I had roof, fog surronds grille and b pillars wrapped black magic vinyl

Well done! I like it and will consider doing it in mine.

When I wrapped my Citigo grille it was hit and miss so I'm going to try Plastidip and see how that goes.

will it be susceptible to stone chips?  that concerns me about wrapping!

I had it on my Fabia too, and I never had any issue, but that was a small amount of vinyl never Vinyled a large part of the car. Altho I am tempted to do the roof but not sure if that would be too much.

I just saw a white Monte Carlo fabia with black roof, wheels, grill, head lights and fog lamps... Can you buy the lights for a rapid?
