Twin window switches?

Featured Replies

Not something I've really thought about (in the 400 or so miles I've done in the Citigo so far!). I can reach the passenger window switch from the driver's seat for that one occasion per decade I need to open the passenger window.

I regularly drive with both windows down, buts its no biggy to reach across. nice to have but doesnt come close to a good reason to upgrade to a new car, and only mildly excites me to consider adding a switch to my existing car. any more than a £5 switch and 5 mins with a screwdriver and I wouldnt be interested.

'Any more than a £5 switch and 5 mins with a screwdriver and I wouldnt be interested' Sounds a bit like Skoda Technical :D:notme:

They are saying on the up! website, the up!s are having the twin window switches fitted as standard from week 45.

On the latest Configurator pages for the there are definitely 2 window switches shown. There is also a new switch by the 12v socket but can't tell what it is.

My car is supposed to be build week 43 so will find out tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath.

No twin window switch in my new week 43 build week car so it must be in the Up[emoji17]

If it's in the Volkswagen up that means surely there will be a part number for it?

It can be bought from your dealers now. Switch is £30-ish, cover for switch is £8-ish. Then some wiring is needed to get it working - figure it out :)

I'm not messing with wiring ,if had been on it would have been nice.

Probably a completely different wiring loom as there won't be any wiring in the drivers door to do with the passenger window. This will make the job a lot more differcult and expensive for DIY!

Couple of zip ties should do her right, little bit of shrink wrap here and there and some soldering and bobs your uncle

Didn´t get the part numbers. But it´s listed as "From 11.2014" in their system. And no, of course there is not any wires from the drivers door to the passenger door. But running two wires from door to door is not the biggest problem, in my opinion.

Not so sure the extra wiring would have to go from door to door, probably from the switch to the BCM.

No. The Citigo does not have any control modules for the doors, to it´s from door-to-door.

Have a look on the UP forum. Some lad has completed this on his
