Octavia production video

Awesome is the word. I've not seen that before, so thank you.

So interesting to see parts where they're working while walking along. I mean, I'm aware of the concept of a production line, but that is cool. Wouldn't want the pressure of a job there tho - no slacking off!!

Brilliant. They have updated it for the new model

Seen this before but great to see again

Yep saw the old one but haven't seen this - looking forward to watching when home from work

Not seen that before. Robots are fab.

Thanks that's great [emoji106]

Really awesome!

Watching this triggered memories of my Dad taking me for a visit one day to the Ford factory at Dagenham  - must be close on 55 years ago now. Ford used to run factory tours back then and made all parts of the vehicle and then assembled them.

Looking back the chaos - the noise - the dust/dirt was incredible. They cast their own engine blocks/heads and the heat generated by the smelters was overpowering.   And the Ford operation was considered to be one of the leading factories at the time.

Pity my old man isn't around to see how things have progressed.

Pardon the trip down memory lane!

It would be great if they had cameras going all the time and that you could follow the production of your car in real time. You would just need to enter a reference number and build details into a special website to gain access to view.

Fascinating!

Fair play, would have loved that. Did the dagenham heritage museum in 2012, that was quality. Big into old fords. Here's mine:-

Saw this the other night when searching for Vrs reviews on youtube.

I'm so fascinated by this and find it very interesting... So much so that I have watched it more than once.

Amazing use of robots to do the spraying, well impressed by the different coloured cars on the spray line.

Nice pair of Escorts, Blindinbear.

I used to have the same blue 1.6 Ghia albeit a 3 door. Loved it.

Watching the video might answer that 'was it put in by man or machine' question when a fault arises such as steering/suspension issues and low frequency boom - is the vent correctly positioned/ fitted etc.

Not 100% sure what it is about them but the paint robots in particular are the stuff of nightmares.

Would love a 3dr ghia.

Having watched other videos, the later quality control seemed good but i see where you are coming from.

I think the robots are spraying clearcoat in the video with the white and red car in the spray line at the same time ;-)

Fascinating.  I expected there to be much less manual work going on and nearly all the work being done by robots.

FWIW, I'm glad I don't work in a place like that. All far to ordered and clean.  I need chaos and mess!  :)

Thank you for sharing the video i think i saw the old one before its nice to see they have updated it, fascinating :)

Great to watch - the paint robots were really fascinating to see, and I've been in hospitals less clean than that factory !
