Leaking clutch fluid

Featured Replies

I just lost fluid and operation of clutch due to a leak of fluid. It seems to be leaking from where the metal pipe joins the plastic at master cyl. end. The fluid is dripping onto exhaust.

I understand there is an O-Ring in there somewhere, but looks an awkward job to replace (if the O-Ring is the problem) Can you get these O-rings from anywhere? Any advice on doing it?

The Car is a 1.6 (AKL) petrol Mk1 Octavia

Mine split at the slave end, and it actually turned out to be a split in the pipe, in the "flare" at the end....

Brake fluid has a lower flash point than petrol, be careful.

Good luck

With the Octavia the Clutch and brake fluid are shared, so keep an eye on the brake fluid level as the last thing you need is no brakes.

You can get the seal. ..main dealer.
