I would love to attend, but may be there is a need to extend the invite to Monte's as well? I know that the Fabia vRS have a good following, but speaking for one that own's and loves my Monte's, plus I am sure that there are loads of Monte owners that would like to come along.

Santa Pod is for modified cars for showing and a run down the strip, which the Fabia vRS and the Monte should fall into! You vRS owners run down the strip, the Monte owners can maybe just watch and polish! But it would be good to show our club off to others!

Add me to this as well please, quite fancy a mk2 Vrs owners meet and greet, lord knows with all the engine changes there should be plenty of greeting going on. Just need to get routefinder out, or my old AA annual that someone got me in the early nineties so I can find where I'm supposed to be heading.

Ahh a few vRS crossing the Border.

I will head down the West side of the country sometime early on the Friday.

Maybe crossing from Penicuik through Biggar, but i will be stopping in at Abington Services for sure.

(with a 'Dont follow me, i am lost!' sticker on the car.)

 

I hope that no Monte Carlo or any other Skoda owners feel that they would not be made welcome.

Even Yeti section members & drivers would be given a special greeting to show that we are all Jock Tamsons bairns.

It's in my diary, looking forward. It's been I while since I have been to the Pod, last time was with the Saxo club which must have been 10 years or more ago! That's showing my age - the Saxo guys thought I was an old fart then!

But you are only as old as the car(s) you drive - so there is still hope for me.

& he can maybe try before he buys.

I wonder if someone owns the vRS that Fifth Gear used to break the various Speed Records.

 

Not sure if it is OV10 DBO But it was there or there abouts.

Apparently 334 miles door to door for me, and according to t'interweb should take 5hrs 21 mins. So somewhere in the region of 670 miles round trip and at least 10 hrs driving according to guide.

 

Think I'll try to follow George example and book for Friday and Saturday at least, maybe need to travel back on Sunday due to work but can perhaps sort something out given amount of notice I can give.

 

Should be a blast, and that's just the M74! 5hrs 21 mins? Dinnae think so somehow.
