  • Good News! ŠKODA UK have very kindly agreed to come along on Saturday. I won't ruin the surprise as to what exactly they will be bringing, but it's a very good effort on their part.     Now, I have

Some or many will still be around in the Area on Sunday.

Yep that's it George. All sorted for the 'pod.

Just need to agree on a Saturday night social now. Curry and beers sounds like the way forward!

Sounds good to me

Wonderful.

I know i mentioned Ali's for a meal / drink and i asked if anyone knew it in another thread.

Reviews looked good, never been there.

But to save worrying about booking and numbers etc,

or anything else, & being more Ad-hock.

?

Is there a JD Wetherspoons type place around the area, Brewers Fayre,  'Chicken Saturday'

or a Carvery type that will be able to just have turn up and get served,

maybe a big enough car park if there are a good few vehicles etc.  Beer Garden type place.?

And does that interest anyone for Saturday Evening / Night

Rushden, Wellingborough or Northampton are the nearest ones

My vote would be for Ali's, looks pretty decent from the website.

Only snag of course is the booking and table reservation issue in terms of numbers wanting to go.

Not a fan of 'spoons particularly but would be much easier!

I guess we can see who would be on for an Ali's nearer the time and then get something booked. Maybe take over the whole restaurant lol

What time do we need to get to Santa pod for on the Saturday?

Anytime you want after the gates open, you should be able to find where everyone is parked.

There is nothing planned other than a day out to Santa Pod.

You need to arrive between 8.30 and 9am for "sign-on" if you are going on track. Track runs then start at 9.30am :-)

Mmmmm have to say I'm really tempted to do a few runs up the strip

I am sure this has been discussed but is just putting in sport and flooring it the best way to go to achieve the best time or is there any other preferences as wheelspin as got to be a big issue.

tyres. I have federal RSR's (track day tyres) for the summer. no wheelspin ;)

traction control off of course, that would make you SLOW.... I will have my XDS turned off by then too (I have it on in the winter, and off for the track season!) but having it on would probably help on the drag strip.... (tries to stop wheelspin without cutting power..)

Er, what time is kick-off?

It all kicks off when you get there,

sooner would be better rather than later.  After Breakfast.

Er, what time is kick-off?

Venue opens at 8 but need to arrive by 8.30 for sign-on.

I've now updated the first page of the thread with tall the details!

Do you really have to sign on by 8.30 am if doing RWYB,   Was that what you were told?

At other venues the sign on is just open as people arrive through the day,

for the likes of the Crail Thrash you might only go in the afternoon & sign on as and when you get there.

You don't have to be there by 8.30, but they recommend that you arrive for sign-on by 9am. I'm sure you can turn up and sign on at any point during the day but I got the impression that there is a limit to the total number of cars that can be signed on to use the strip at any given time (so signing in early guarantees you a spot). It's quite an important point so I will email them again to clarify and let you know. :-)

Cheers chaps - I take it you don't have to participate in the drag?

No,  just £10 entry per person  (Under 16's free)

& £25 more if you wanted to sign on for runs.
