My Scout, picked up a week ago, came fitted with winter tyres. 215/60 R16s.

That's interesting that you have 215/60s. This doesn't appear to be type approved for the Scout, but it is a common Yeti size. Only a slight difference in rolling radius which isn't enough to worry about.

Glad to see 205/60 is now an approved size. Got some for my Mk2 Scout in Autumn 2013 as a better match for 225/50 R17 than 205/55 R16. Only had them a few months before change was somewhat forced upon me, so running them on the Mk3 without issue (summer size is now 225/45).

 

Interestingly my 4x4 with RRP ended up parked next to the dealers Mk3 Scout when in for its 20k service last week; on 205/60s there was almost no difference in ride height.

Checked Estonian type approval document for Scout:

205/55 R17 91V M+S

225/50 R17 94V

205/60 R16 92V M+S

205/50 R17 89V M+S

 

That would suggest that you should not use 225/50 R17 for winter. Wish I knew that before ordering.
