Hello I'm new to the site not new to skoda or vag cars tho I've bought a 07 vRS SE No 480 as I needed something bigger than my lupo due to a baby and always wanted a vRS since my 1st car skoda 1.9sdi

I'm planning a few upgrades (but do have a buget) just like to know opinions or order

1) new headunit think alpine CDE 180r

2) uprated front door speakers and mounts (Mac audio)

3) lcr spittler

4) coilovers prob jom as on a buget

5) sharkfin aerial

6) colour code the crime round the front grill

7) wheels refuted and powder coated white

8) a remap (not sure where to go for the best)

9) s2000 cone air filter and new cold air feed

10) LEDS all the way round (done)

11) retrofit hids dipped beam uprated main beam

Now the problems

1) both front wheel bearing have gone (fix Saturday)

2) no fog lights what so ever having changed the bulbs didn't need to take the bumber off as I have read so many times

3) I have a wet front o/s carpet and having clue where it's come from checked all the things I've read pollen filter (just in case), pulled of the arce liner the door seal seems fine as no water on the seal in the car !!! Ideas ??

ok super. Will dig into logs.

That's a hell of a Christmas wishlist for the responsible father of a new baby.

If you're on a budget scale back on the bling a bit and concentrate on the important stuff.

1) Replace the front hub assemblies since the wheel bearings need specialist tools to replace.

2) Check the fuse for your front foglights.

3) Is the wet carpet just plain water?

4) Check the joint in the washer pipe on the bulkhead near the ABS modulator.

5) Put the ordinary bulbs back in, you clearly have faulty LED's which are overheating.

Papa got to have new toys to the wheel bearing are being done by a good friend who is a master tech so that should be free and eurocar parts is where the bearings are from

Yep checked the fuse and that's good the checked the Blubs hopfully my friend will take a look at that too just woundered if it was a common fault the blub switch I would say is fine too as the rear fog works and both light appar on the dash

Yes it just seems to be plain water also can't have been there long as no smell of mould or anything come to think of it

Don't mean to be rude, but why the hell would you buy a car with that many problems in the first place. Did you not give it a thorough looking over or did you just go slap the money in someone's hand? Lol

Forgot the important stuff get the stereo done . Leds . You can always get a divorce and it's easy to make babies

There was a little bit of hast I will admit did check the carpets and all seem fine untill IT rained a couple days in a row didn't check the fogs and the bearing were fine untill a week ago which was odd but that's a easy fix

And just really didnt check the rear washer

The LEDs was a problem I caused coz I'm abit of a messer

Fairy nuff.

Either your windscreen isn't sealed properly or the drivers door drains are blocked.

DON'T fit JOM's to a family car, the suspension will be so bouncy and harsh that you will kill your new baby by liquefying its internal organs. You're not a teenaged charver anymore, you're a responsible Dad, time to move on.

Not that I can see ive had a good feel all of the footwell under the door card behind the bonnet release and can find no damp what so ever I have had some of the arch liner off you see if that was full of leaves but it wasn't will invesigate more tomorrow

Was allways curious how it would ride but would it to drop it 20-30 mm a teenager lives on inside

Take off the door card, remove the dash undertray and pull the carpet back if you can from over the sill and up the a pillar. Dry the floor if it's wet and dust the sill and a pillar with talcum powder. Close the door and window and empty a watering car over the windscreen and drivers window. Hopefully the water will show as streaks in the powder and allow you to trace the leak. 30mm drop is a little harsh but bearable as long as you keep tyres standard

Thanks I will give that a go in the morning

just had a quick look and the rear washer pipe near the and modulater and it has popped off but leaking on passenger side so doubt it would wet the drivers side ??

So would you advise coilovers or lowering springs for the 30 mm drop
