SmartGate can be retrofitted by them at the cost of 4732,75NOK. Its suppoed to be quite some work.

Do not know the price of the part in their stock.

Rocks: only mirrorlink or whole smartlink??

Took me an hour to fit SmartGate ........ Lazy mechanic, there are 5 wires to swap over in the CAN Gateway multiplug and one piece of trim to remove. The unit cost me £95 including postage from the Czech Republic.

Skoda Finland has information from the factory that MIB2 devices are not available for retrofitting prior MY16 cars. If the Mirrorlink is just a sw update for MIB1, it would be nice. But the recent 5,8" resolution, it is...

I'd assume it's an update for Columbus units but not available for Bolero/Amundsen.

Depending which dealer/importer/mate down the pub/crystal ball people speak to there is a different answer.

Not sure about lease.

If you change your order the general rule is that you pay the prices in effect on the day you change it .......

I'm new to this forum but have followed it on different topics for a while now

 

I just wanted to add my contribution to this post as I've asked Skoda Switzerland, and my dealership about a possible MirrorLink update for Columbus devices (I've got a 2015 Skoda Octavia with Columbus system)

 

So, Skoda Switzerland replied to my mail simply by saying that MirrorLink was only for new models and an update is unfortunately not possible. (Here's the mail in french)

My dealership gave me a less definitive reply, telling me that it was not possible for now, but as it is a brand new system not completely mastered by Skoda, it could eventually come out later.

Selon l’importateur il n’est pas possible (du moins pour l’instant) de mettre l’Apple CarPlay sur votre voiture.

Il n’y a pas de solution pour l’instant car c’est trop nouveau pour SKODA. Apple CarPlay est installé depuis peu c’est-à-dire pour les nouveaux véhicules qui vont être livrés tout soudain pas avant.

 

Je garde votre demande de côté pour le moment et je regarderai ultérieurement si il y a une solution pour vous.

Probably not possible, if MirrorLink is not an option when you press the menu button, than unfortunately your Bolero system is MIB 1, only MIB 2 systems from June/July 2015 have MirrorLink as an option.

Nope and never will, that's a MIB1 unit and the hardware simply doesn't support it.

 

About the update, there is a thread around - just search for "Bolero MIB1 update", but the update won't add any features or options. Only bug fixes.
