how do i find which one is it? i mean i have vagcom .....................but there is no abs light and codes.............so how do i know which one is it?

you must use VCDS in ABS  module , you will see the speed of which wheel and they must be equal .The different speed of the wheel is a faulty ABS sensor

Solved .............. :D  :D  :D  :D  the front driver side sensor gap between sensor and ring was to much.............i minimized it and now brakes are working fine ................and abs is working good ............the sensor was not faulty it was just the gap that making the sensor to not read speed ..........so as ABS module think that there is a wheel brake lock up everytime i dropped below 20 kmph ...................thank anyway ...........that was a great help .

I had my near side front hub bearing replaced in November and since then have had difficulty setting the actuator ring to give the correct gap with the sensor. I too am getting the rumble and scrape when the car is almost stopped. Very annoying!

Does anyone know what the correct gap should be between the sensor and ring?

Renewal of the discs and brake pads resulted in the pad wear warning light appearing every time the ignition is switched on. No obvious faults found. Would a good spray of contact cleaner at the connector help or does anybody know of any other tips?

Many thanks.

I have the exact same fault after changing both front bearings and rings

I have this problem, too. I once got into an accident because of it, it prevented me from stopping the car in time, when I got to about 20kmph, the brakes started slipping with a grinding feel in the pedal and let the car to advance almost free of braking and got me into another car. First I thought it was the tires skidding on the asphalt, but then I tested it and it seems there's some electronic systems that kick in and prevent you from stopping the car safely.

Hi all,

I'm in the wrong forum as I'm a MK1 Superb owner but we're all brothers right? lol

Anyhoo, my MK1 is doing the same thing after a bearing change. I presumed that it was an abs sensor so bought and fitted a new one. It wasn't. The only minor difference is that mine only does the grinding/pulsing thing as I'm about to stop, Literally the last second before stationary but it is so annoying. I've pulled out the sensor and checked the actual abs ring for any missing bits and pushed it back in as far as it will go. Before I fitted the new sensor I tried pulling it out a little but the abs warning light came on.

So, anything else I can do?

Ta
