Octy Vrs lost half its value in 2 years!?

Featured Replies

Well the time has come for me to start thinking about chanfing my beloved car so I've been doing the rounds at the dealers and the best part ex price I've been offered so far is

Seems a fair price since you can get a brand new vRS for around

I don't think dealers will do you a favor with the P/X price. It is costing you to have the privilege of walking into a dealer and they look after you get you in a new car, take your old one off you etc. It is pretty stress free really - and that is what my dad does. BUT obviously if you want more money, you sell privately and enjoy all the pickey losers turning up at your house and joy riding your car etc, but you can get

As soon as you drive the car off the forecourt it'll loose at least 17.5% (the VAT), so that takes the value down to just under

A Bloody Alfa wouldn't have depreciated that much!!

Still cant complain too much. Had a great time with the car.

Interestingly when I told dealers it was remapped they generally added about 500 quid to their offer which pretty much what the map and controller cost in the first place - Bargain!!

Always the best time to buy a car as opposed to sell.A car that is one,two or three years old I'm sorry to say.

Don't forget,50% of value after 3 years is incredibly good (I know yours is two years)

Good luck

Hmmmmm.

I bought a pre-registered Alfa 156 Selespeed Veloce for

When I was selling my 4 year old vRS, I was offered 5K as a p/ex. As already said, with the current mk1 available for around 13k new, maybe less soon due to the new model I think 8K sounds about right. The dealer will proberbly stick 1-1.5K on for their profit.

Yea a did!!

Really should have bought the 6month old silver one he had on the forecourt but no' date=' I had to have black  what a muppet (except that black is the best colour for a Vrs)[/quote']

I was also looking at black, was offered a 1yr old ex skoda black vRS for around

I know how you feel. I want to change cars but dont fancy losing 7-8k from what I paid for it.

There are about 4 or 5 vRSs' on flea bay at the moment. There is one for

True, and on that note, should anyone wish to give away their perfectly good second hand vRS because it is taking up too much room on their driveway, im sure i could help :D

For a small token fee of course. ;)

Incredibly good? For the UK probably! Here, 50% after 3 years is the golden p/x rule, so nothing special about it.

Still, trying to sell a car after two years is never a wise bet. I'm sure that if you'd wait another year, you'll get exactly the same offer. And you picked the worst moment with the new vRS just coming up. Wait for another year and the new vRS rage will have died down, leading to more reasonable prices for old-shape cars anyway.

Mines a Y reg....and is immaculate throughout .....Got it advertised on here, Auto trader and some other forums....and not one call.

I've got it up for

I bought my Superb two years ago for

Considering the car is only just 2 years old, is in perfect condition and only has 16K on the clock (and cost just under 16 grand when I bought it!) I think this is a bit rubbish.

i honestly can't see why you'd want to sell.

I fancy something with 2 seats and no roof. Thats the only reason

I want to sell become I want something that is rwd or 4wd and something that has more power.

Don't buy a new Scoob if you are worried about depreciation. ;)

thats as good a reason as any,me too,but the mrs and kids won't let me :(

you will get more than the what the dealer has offered you, but it works with swings and roundabouts, you may only get 8k for your part ex, but push hard for a 4k discount from the dealer. most dealers have between 5 - 14% margin on new cars, (kia sorento you can haggle for around
