It is costing you to have the privilege of walking into a dealer and they look after you get you in a new car, take your old one off you etc. It is pretty stress free really - and that is what my dad does. Interestingly when I told dealers it was remapped they generally added about 500 quid to their offer which pretty much what the map and controller cost in the first place - Bargain!!

Incredibly good? For the UK probably! Here, 50% after 3 years is the golden p/x rule, so nothing special about it.

Still, trying to sell a car after two years is never a wise bet. I'm sure that if you'd wait another year, you'll get exactly the same offer. And you picked the worst moment with the new vRS just coming up. Wait for another year and the new vRS rage will have died down, leading to more reasonable prices for old-shape cars anyway.
