Which Brake Pads?

Featured Replies

What i dont understand is the fact it may invalidate my warranty?

In what way may I ask?

As the pads and discs are consumable items which i have to pay for.

They are also non Skoda UK recommended items. It has been said before, but it is completely down to your dealer's discretion to replace part under warranty, and even then Skoda UK can say no.

Pagid Blue

1153

DS2500

1155

Orange

Black

1166

DS3000

Grey

not quite right...............i would put rs4.2 "blue" on the car over 1155 and ds2500 and also rs14"black" roughly sits alongside ds3000 and above 1166/1177..............

where can i get pagid greys?

You can't for standard callipers :(

You probably could for a set of Brembos or Porsche brakes ;)

So is oil, but if you put the wrong oil in and it goes titsup.com you might have a problem getting the engine replaced under warranty.

All I'm trying to say is that Skoda UK will try its best to avoid putting things right on warranty if the parts involved are messed with.

Talk of bedding in brakes.........

We have a customer who owns an RS6 -- absolutely mullered his Front & Rear Brake pads & discs - in 17,000 miles -- he drives the car VERY hard -- not bothered,in fact quite proud of the fact! -- just replace them he says --- Discs are drilled factory option & HUGE -- total cost ???

So what did you say to him, Dave? Eg, "Let me know where you are and I'll send the Fire Brigade round", or what?

Probably a company car like TavisRS' or ffelan's. IMHO people with company cars generally don't give a hoot about how they treat them, or drive them. QED.

Dave,

I get the impression from reading other forums that peeps who can afford an RS6 don't give a **** about cost........I mean these things have approx 450bhp and they get them MTM chipped to 500+bhp......Kim Collins ain't cheap!

I suppose

I spent a happy lunch hour staring at the Brakes on a 911 the other day...

Verrrrrrrrrry Nice :)

Geoff, how bout these porsche brakes. shown here fitted to ****'s old vRS . it can be done but will cost loads of money, and you'll need 18" wheels to clear the caliper.

Whats wrong with that. :D

I think it'll be a case of Discs, Pads & fluid for me, that Porsche kit looks verrrry nice, but no way am i spending silly money on brakes ;)

Anyway, once the car is Jabba'd thats the end of the spending until after :xmas: :D

How about a nice set of Brembo's

323x28 sized and fit 17" rims

As fitted to my MKIV.

Stops very well. 1m20s laps at combe and ZERO fade unlike the previous 312mm TT setup it ran with Pagids.
