hi everyone I've just become the proud new owner of the octavia but when i Got home i noticed the folding mirror on the drivers side doesn't fold in as much as the passenger side.

you only really notice properly when your looking down the side of the car from the back where you see more of the exposed mirror if that makes sense and I was wondering if this was a fault or is it normal?

any replies are much appreciated

Apparently it's normal, I thought the same thing when I got mine. I've been told the reason it's different is that the drivers and passenger cowling is a slightly different shape if you view them from above.

+1 the mirror mountings are different on each side, the mirrors fold the same amount but the passenger mirror ends up closer to the car as a result of the different mountings. Completely normal I assure you. Try ans look at the car from above with the mirrors retracted and you'll notice it.
