good stereo with aux in?

Featured Replies

Hi.

Looking to replace the standard symphony radio with something with an aux in for phones in my fabia vrs mk 1.

What would people recommend?

Also need it to work with the cd shuffly wuffly which is under the passenger seat.

Hmmm not sure but I don't think any aftermarket will work with multichanger I'm afraid

Have a look at jvc head units I have one it has USB and aux and it was dirt cheap..

This is my problem :(

There is a 'connects2' or something along those lines that is basically an adapter that replaces the cd changer, but I would much rather have the cd changer AND the aux input. I shall wait patiently till something is designed and brought out that makes this possible.

Only Skoda branded headunits can drive the changer under the seat, if you replace the Stereo and want a changer you'll need to replace that as well.

There is a dension product you can use that will give you both the changer and the Aux input, and switch between them.

I believe you need the gateway 100 or 200 with the dension changer retention kit. Please check compatibility first though.

Is Dension a brand?

Is this a piece of equipment that works with the Symphony Head unit, as well as the cd changer?

How do you go about alternating between cd's and aux input? As there is no 'aux/input' button?

Yes, Dension is a brand name.

The retention kit is below, it does not explain how it works.

I guess simply plugging in the cable causes the gateway to swap to the ipod, and when disconnected operates the changer.

The gateway 100 is an old product, so you'd need to source the correct version from ebay or a retailer who still holds stock.

I believe the X-Carlink allows you to keep the CD Changer and use an iPod or Aux/USB input.  I had used one in my 6N2 Polo GTI and the CD changer still functioned; and it works in my VRS with the Symphony, though I don't have a CD changer.

I have an aftermarket head unit in my Fabia VRS Mk1 KENWOOD KDC-3057UG CD, MP3, AUX, USB Interface. Had it for about a year now and is really good, I got this 1 mainly because the green goes with the interior lights(ish) I think it looks half decent compared to the likes of JVC, ALDI specials etc :D  Would probably cost around £100-£130 fitted?

Guys bought this today from B&M's a Belkin Tiunecast Auto live for iphone and ipod, works ace and puts all the info up on the old Skoda headset LCD panel. £ 4.99, much cheapness lol

Thanks for the info.

They have one for ipod 5 but it is £12.99 still a bargain

This is my JVC head unit which I got second hand for £30. It has bluetooth, usb and aux. It is great! Keep an eye out on Gumtree it is amazing what you might find from time to time.
