Octy 4x4 150 ps elegance on demo

Featured Replies

Just got a fleet demo of the above for a week. Delivered with 250 miles on the clock.

Has leather and Columbus . looks very nice.

Will see how it compares with my VRS.

Bets are open people! I predict it will be as fast, more inconspicuous and more comfortable.

But less cool

Open mind from me. I drive all VAG group cars and most other manufacturers for my job.

They send em I drive em.

Give me a shout when you drive the new Superb! A colleague of mine is interested in it because of his length (and girth) and it seems like the only option he has right now is a Passat.

Will do.

Quite interested in your face-to.face driving impressions.

If possible, I'd love to read of differences in different driving conditions (i.e. less or more brisky ;) )

Will try my best.

I'm interested too...... But don't tell me if it's horrible, it's too late now :-)

Is there a 1.8 TSI version of this coming/available ?

Not sure

This is the model (2.0 tdi AWD) I really wanted....but couldn't wait the 16week build time.....and had to settle with the normal fwd spec model.

I just wish Skoda would do the hatchback with AWD, that would be nice!!.... I'm going to be very interested in your opinions, especially how it drives in the wet/icey conditions.

Steve.

Well, they do, they just don't sell it in the UK...

Been driving it this week . VRS parked up.

Will report back next week.

My new 2.0 TDI Elegance 4x4 is being delivered on Tuesday so I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi Peten,

Is it an estate btw coz I thought we don't get hatch 4x4 in the UK!

Sorry to disappoint but yes it's an estate. At the time I ordered the rough road package wasn't an option on the elegance otherwise I'd have added that. As it was the only extras I went for were powered boot, sunset glass, space saver & mitsumi.

Been driving it this week . VRS parked up.

Will report back next week.

Skodafang - I am very interested in your impressions after your week with the Elegance 4x4.  Any chance of posting the report....?

Thanks

Neil

I've just got one of these and I LOVE it.

Makes a huge difference in this weather compared to a fwd car, pulling away from roundabouts in the wet etc. Even with the traction control button turned off, I just can't get the wheels to spin. It just pins you to the seat and you launch!

lol, I agree :)

Iv'e had a 150 Elegance 4x4 estate for about 6 weeks now and generally I'm fairly pleased with it so far. Everything works, no faults and seems well put together although perhaps not the feeling of solidarity compared to my two previously Yetis or my many Subarus, but I suppose thats how things are going nowadays where lightness and efficiency are the watchword.

We've had lots of snow and ice here recently -11c and largely untreated roads and I have to say it gets you everywhere you want to go safely and securely with lots of grip - and all that boot space compared to the Yeti !. Its running on 16inch steels on Vredestein Wintrac Extremes ( kept over from my last Yeti) and can't recommend winter tyres highly enough- a world of difference for all you folk who have never tried them. All in all a good car - but aren't Skodas beginning to get a wee bit expensive ?

Perhaps, but it's all about the "bang for the buck". I for one can't think of another car that gets you similar options combined with 4x4 in this price range.

Some people like the less-obvious choice...   :D

Personally, based on experience of our Mk2 4x4 I reckon it'll be a cracker and a better bet in general use than the VRs - especially if it were 'tweaked' with a mild remap etc.
