Mk1 2003 1,9 SDI Correct battery

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have searched and can't find this info.

I will be off to France soon for a few months and am just getting the car ready, It may need a new battery, but what is the correct one? on Tayna batterys it says 750 cca, some other sites say 640 cca so what is the factory fit one ?

Thanks

As far as I've seen, ETKA doesn't specify CCA, only Ah for 'genuine' batteries.  What's fitted on the production line probably varies month by month depending on suppliers' prices/discounts. As such it may not be a consistent set of ratings, other than probably the Amp-hour one.  Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Edit: sorry, I'd mis-remembered and spoken pile of BS above:

Here's what the options are for a 2003 Fab:

As you can see, Amp-hour ratings and what I assume to be CCA ratings are included, and the latter are all much lower than what your site suggests , so either should be well capable.  The formatting's gone awry in that list, go here to see it clearer.
