New engines/facelift

Recommended Posts

On a Czech forum they are dubbing this year's Rapid updates a "tech-lift" rather than a "face-lift"

Could be new engines and electronics this year, styling changes to follow next year.

The car is only three years old this September so it would be quite early for a full facelift..

The new one starts build from week22 (mid May), all cars with the older EU5 engines must be registered by September.

Found the following information about the techlift on a Czech forum:

- Engines EU6

- Indicators in wing mirrors

- New wheels

- New dashpod/maxidot

- LED function in foglights (DRLs?)

- KESSY GO/FULL

- Skoda 3d surround sound

- Climatronic with humidity sensor

- Auto up/down electric windows

- Front parking sensors

- Fatigue sensor

- Front assist

- Uprated ESC

I think they'll eventually do away with the hatchback and just have the Spaceback.

I doubt that.. the Rapid sells really well in Europe and Skoda are looking at entering WTCC with the Rapid, I think that would certainly be with the liftback.

That's an impressive list. This is what the Rapid needs to bring it up in spec [emoji106][emoji4]

I would expect the new Fabia has slot of those upgrades so the Rapid needs doing to bring it up to spec with the Octavia. Would be a nice car with all of those and a nice price no doubt [emoji57]

All very welcome - but evidently more that can go wrong. As alluded to earlier in this thread a heated fronted screen wouldn't go a miss.

Most of those don't bother me, but the updated sound system, proper windows and the new engine are all things I'd have liked.

Does the rapid really not have auto up/ down windows ? my fabia does front and rear.

The one in the roof ?

It should go on with any door open. Is it switched off ?

Yes the one on the roof on the backseats. It only a on/off button... and that for a hatchback... :-/
