CC and MFSW retrofit

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a FL Octavia and am trying to work out which parts I need to order to retrofit

1) Cruise

2) MFSW (possibly, if cost not too high)

I fitted my own CC to a Mk1 Octavia, but things seem to have become more complex!!!

I have VCDS which identified the steering controller as

Address 16: Steering wheel (J527)       Labels: 5K0-953-569.clb

   Part No SW: 5K0 953 521 BJ    HW: 5K0 953 569 C

but the Ross Tech site doesn't identify whether this is a low-, mid- or high-line version.

Can anyone advise whether it will need replacing, and which parts I would need (eg would fitting a MFSW require a new airbag?) for CC and MFSW.

Many thanks,

T

I retro fitted MFSW, yes the airbag is reused.

I got my parts from skodateile.cz very good site, helpful guy.  Eddie-NL on here is prob your best bet in terms of what you need, he's the retro-fit guru.   BTW I have a FL cruise control stalk going spare if you need, p/n:  5K0953507BA.

I should have a MFSW for a FL at home, I'll drop it in the for sale section so you can decide if you want it and add a link here.

If you scroll down to the last list on the RT website I think yours is listed there: 953 569 C.

It shows as a mid-line controller.

I'm not guaranteeing that info is correct, but I believe you need to look at the HW on the VCDS scan to identify it.

PM Eddie-NL on here. He'll know.

I needed both stalks (which come as one assembly) for my FL Octavia. My steering wheel controller has the same HW and SW numbers as yours.  It supports CC but I do not know if it will also support a MFSW.

The PN for the new stalk is 5K0 953 502 N 9B9.  The description is Steering Column Combi Switch - Satin Black, and it is for cars produced between 05/10 - 06/12.
