What next?

Featured Replies

I'm getting to the point where my car is not gonna be in negative equity and am thinking what to get next.

Seat are doing some pretty good deals on the Ibiza and most of the skoda range is way over priced and quality is heading downwards.

I love my Citigo and would get another but they dont do the sports anymore. The montes are nice but don't have the bonnet stripes and you can't get the 16 inch wheels in he UK anymore apparently. The wheel issue is a deal breaker for me!

So I guess it's monte v sport .

What do I do? Lol.

If it helps I've been with Skoda for over 12 years. I'm not going to skoda next.

For the price there is better badges possible to get. Don't get me wrong I'm a Skoda fan, but sadly I will be moving on from them due to their current pricing.

Skodas current pricing and downward quality is certainly off putting.

Seat are competitively priced and VW are very aggressive in their pricing too. It seems that skoda UK don't want our custom!

I've got to say, despite how much I love my car, my impression of Skoda UK is appalling.

They never communicate with me. My garage never respond to any of my queries, they dismiss any questions I ask, they promised compensation after having to wait 6 months (when sold under the impression it'd be 1 and a half months for my car to arrive). They then back-tracked once I picked up my car, told me to phone Skoda UK, who then said (politely) that I should go waste someone else's time.

My Citigo is a wonderful car, but I will never buy from Skoda again.

After reading plenty of posts on here your impression of skoda uk seems to be similar to what other people experience too. Rather than autoexpress always patting them on the back their journos should read on here and do some mystery shopping to see what they are really like!

I tried twice to get a test drive of the new fabia, dealer ignored me so walked away, wifes citigo replaced with i10  and my fabia an i20

I have faced some stick for going to Korean pastures, but on paper fntstic spec but the engines are behind VAG

once we have the new one home I will keep you upto date whether the switch was a good or bad move

what I have noticed is when skoda, vw and audi are speced to same level the prices are within  couple of hundred of each other

so the differentiator appears to be the starting point, skoda has the lowest starting point and audi the best base model

so if you are adding some options it appears to be worth looking at the next brand up the pecking order

the only issue I have noticed is vw do not like taking skodas and audi well, enough said

Its not just new cars either, I was looking at a 10 plate octavia vrs diesel in blue and it was £10995, it had history and 65000 on the clock, in the same garage was a passat cc 2.0 diesel gt (170 bhp) with slightly less miles same history and same price.

Asked the dealer what my 56 plate vrs estate was worth as a trade in and walked away, he said it would be in the region of £3500 against either of the above cars, he had an 06 vrs in for £5995.

Before my Citigo, I drove an i20 1.2 Active.

We've had all three versions of the i20 (including the new 64 plate one) and all have been great cars. Agree with the engines, despite the 84PS, it feels  underpowered and more laboured. My Citigo has more go than even our new 3rd Gen i20. But Hyundai have been fantastic as a dealership, and always catered to the customer's needs (in our case, hence why we have bought 3 different models from them). So I completely agree.

The more I think about getting a monte next time round, the more I'm put off by the lack of roof / bonnet stripe. I know it sounds daft but the stripe plus the 16 inch serpens wheels make a massive difference to the look of the car IMHO.

I think the MC should have a black roof. That would look great [emoji8]

Yeah it would. Even with the sunroof but I don't think that's an option on the monte in the UK, nor are the serpens and we don't get the electric mirrors! Think Skoda UK are taking the wee a bit with us in the UK!

Only trouble though from what I know is the rear spoiler is too difficult to wrap due to the curves :(

Hmm yes good point but the MC spoiler is Black already [emoji111]️
