Evening Everyone!

 

I thought I'd share this on here because it was awesome to have a go at my mates S6 and really enjoyed it. It also showcases some products, especially the wax as i's the first time I've tried this on a dark car. I do not make money from this and only do my good friends cars, although I will have a full Ale cupboard soon! Anyway, if this isn't appropriate for the section please let me know and I'll notify Admin to remove it.

 

When my mate asked me if I wanted a go at sorted out 03 plate S6 Avant with 100k on the clock, I was like "Does a bear poop in the woods!"

So I got to his at 0730 this morning to get this V8 bad boy back to how it should be. I daren't tell you how much he snapped this up for! It had a few niggles but he's awesome with cars and soon ironed the kinks out of it, and is also about to complete an LPG conversion on it!

So the plan of action is to wash it, de-tar with tardis and de-iron and clay at the same time with Iron X and the CarPro Clay Towel. Wheels to be cleaned with Bilberry, then decontaminated as above. The car was then to have a single stage enhancement (because it's a beast of a car!) with SonaxPerfect Finish on an Orange Hexlogic pad via rotary polisher and then a layer of Angelwax Desireable popped on after a thorough IPA wipedown. Time was going to be tight so I cracked on! Here are a few from when I got there.

Hopefully the sonax would sort this out.

Wheels up first.

All done and tyres dressed

Then the car wash decontaminated. Took about two hours to this point. I love my clay cloth!!! Swirls are more visible now.

Sonax was a success.

And sorted out a few deeper scratches.

Still there, but much less visible

So, made my way around the rest of the car, applied the wax after the IPA wipedown, dressed the tyres, plastics and polished the exhausts. Job done! Such a rewarding detail, I love this car.

I love it mate. I was a doubter about waxes and how much of a difference they can make. Until I tried Desireable. Amazing product, surely waxes can't get any better than that, can they??!!

No such thing IMO as the "best" wax. Some give different looks, durability, ease of use etc. if you're happy with AW Desirable then stick with it & save your money.

It gives me everything I need. You're right, I'll just grab a sample pot of something if I fancy a change.

Nice motor.  These are the 2.7 biturbo lumps aren't they?  Always fancied dropping one of those into a Fabia for some reason

A bi-turbo'd Fabia. That would be so cool. It'd surprise a few cars!

Good work.. I had one of them a few years back.. Thirsty fellas.. Mine did 15.8mpg over the time I had it!! Fully loaded and a good sleeper.. Mine was dark green..
