The best dashcam

Featured Replies

Anyone know of reasonably priced dual dash cams, looking for one that has a camera for the rear as well as the front. Wish they did a tiny camera for the front and the main box of tricks hidden under the dash or something. I want the camera but I also don't want it on display for thieves or anyone else on the outside if you know what I mean.

I know I bang on about them a lot, but the Mobius can make a very discreet camera as you can get an 8 inch extension (fnarr) for the lens cable. Which means you can hide the camera up in the sunglasses holder and just run the lens down to the mirror, or wherever else it can see through the wiper swept area.

Have you got a url to one please

Cheers, that's looking good. Nice and small, will have a look around because Id like to cover front and back.

Lots of posts on the Octavia III section.

I use the Transcend Drive Pro 200, very clear camera both in daylight and night

Just to re-awaken this topic: the latest issue of Which? has an article about dash cams, plus a review of ten models. They like the Nextbase 312GW, 212Lite, 512G Ultra, 402G Pro (these cost £70 to £180), plus RAC03 Super HD, Transcend DrivePro200 and Roadhawk DC-2. There are eight "don't buy" verdicts in addition.

I am a bit wary of the Which? technical reviews. I find myself disagreeing strongly with some of the DSLR camera ratings, and a lot of photographers have written that Which? should stick to testing washing machines

I have assumed that dash cams are mainly of interest to high mileage drivers, or those who drive a lot in rough areas for traffic, but having been upset by two unpleasant (non-contact) incidents in the past few weeks on rural roads, I have started to think of getting one. The recommended ones do seem rather expensive.  Just another old fossil, who rarely uses a mobile phone, and even the one I own cannot take photos or do email  :| !!!

I have a transcend drive pro 220.

Hard wired in so I never touch it.

It's been great.
