Engine cover

Featured Replies

Has anyone happened to have priced up the diesel engine cover (+ parts) with a dealer (or other stockist for that matter)? Having looked at yours in envy RiderXXL I feel now that I'm driving around without any pants on :peek:

No longer commando

Thanks for all the comments, and have gone ahead to sort engine cover for Spaceback (posted some before & after photos in separate post if interested).

List prices incl. VAT were:

Engine Cover - £53.71 (with emblem and 4 rubber seals)

O-ring - £5.34

Also needed to order to small ball posts for the front mountings, which cost a few quid each.

Small discounts should be available...

Thanks for the info NigNB, now purchased and fitted. Adds no real difference other than a dust cover (possible sound dampener) but I now have complete satisfaction knowing its there!

Sorry to revive an old thread

I've managed to source an engine cover for my 1.6 Rapid as it seems they don't fit them from new.  I accept is really only cosmetic, but it just looks wrong without one.

The 2 rear ball posts are already on the engine, but I'll need 2 more to go at the front.  Has anyone got a part number or even a link to a proper parts list, please?

No worries, I've sourced a couple.  Looks so much better with a lid on the engine

1.2 didn't have a substantial cover on it at all, nothing like the TDI one.

First one is more likely based on my memory of the 1.2, but there are 2 completely different 1.2 TSI motors. The chain cam 8V and the belt cam 16V.

I agree neither of them are the correct fix for you, this has been covered already in this forum, maybe in the Fabia MK3 area - and I think all the part numbers are in there.

Edit:- I was guessing that it is the 1.2TSI 16V engine you were wanting to fit a cover to by the way.

Thanks for the replies, and sorry for any bother caused!

Not a problem, my remarks were to help you find what others had done to get cover etc, or even just get you the part numbers if you chose to buy them locally.
