I discussed one of these with my dealer a week or two back. They are "special edition" which simply means they are ready built bog standard 1.2 Tsi 86 SE spec bundled with a steel spare wheel and jack. The fact that are already sitting in a compound means that options cannot be added. They were initially available in Silver or Shark Blue but only Silver are left. The salesmen said Skoda had now added Black metallic to the deal so back to two available colours. He claimed they had four "available", whether this meant they were sitting round the back of one of the group showrooms or sitting at Emden "allocated" to their dealership wasn't clear but he said quick delivery would not be a problem.

If you consider Skoda are promoting a run out old model 3 cylinder 1.2 12v 69ps Fabia SE for £9595 the Roomster SE "special edition" at £9995 with 4 cylinder 1.2Tsi 86ps is a no brainer particularly if the £99 service deal is still available with finance. If there is is a run out SE+ coming for the same price then it would, obviously, be even better value. I have the last SE+ which added roof rails, MDI and climate together with special seat fabric but it was an extra cost full price model demonstrator and frankly the only thing I would miss are the roof rails.

In short, if you need a new car and can live with the Roomster's looks then get your wallet out before it's too late. It won't come with roof rails, side rubbing strips, foglamps, headlamp wash or fancy alloys but still represents mind-blowing value for money

I don't know why people keep parroting the car journalists mantra about the Roomsters looks, park it next to a Kangoo, revised Doblo,Touran or Meriva and it makes the rest look like the converted bread vans that they really are..lol

The Roomster was such a radical break from Skodas usual styling,a point proved to me by my neighbours reaction when he first saw it on my driveway..."Nice looking car,but you know for what you probably paid for that you could have bought a  Skoda like mine"...that still makes me laugh to this day.

since the age of 17 i have always had hot hatches

few years ago i bought our lass a citigo

any way i am due to hit 40 this year we have just had our first (and last) baby

today i went and leased a roomster

received an email from rainworth advertising a

 SE 1.2 tsi special edition

kind of annoyed as the email i got pictured this skoda-roomster-se-image1.jpg

BRAND NEW ŠKODA Roomster SE

WAS £14,135 NOW £9,995 SAVE £4,140

You can now get your hands on a brand new ŠKODA Roomster SE 1.2 TSI 86PS model for just £9,995 OTR. It comes with some great specification - including:

  • • Metallic Paint

    • 15” Alloy Wheels

    • Panoramic Sunroof

    • Acoustic Rear Parking Sensors

    • Sunset Glass

    • Electric Front & Rear windows

    • Spare wheel

    • Air Conditioning

    • Remote Central Locking

but it doesnt come with them wheels or fogs or roof rails

not sure if i should take it further to The ASA or wait until the car gets here and see if anything else is missing from the spec

just a quick question though as the dealer had no list as to what came as std or not

will it have DRL

will it have tyre pressure monitor

It should certainly have the TPM,i'd have thought so anyway.Shame you will be missing those wheels,I wouldn't mind a set of those myself.

First things first

Iron x and a clay seasion

I hate new car paintwork

When we got the citigo I asked them not to valet it quite enjoyed doing it myself

Kind of bummed re the pictures v what I'll be getting but its still a cheap motor and with the recent arrival in out life's it will serve a purpose

kind of leaves a being duped taste in my mouth

(that's it now I won't mention it again I promise )

I just know if I wait a better spec will come out before production stops but I learnt from the last lease never spec a lease car unless you want to buy at the end

We ordered every option on the citigo so some ones getting a high spec used car it dropped just over 50% of value in 20 months

Just got back from a weekend away at Wyton, so missed your post about the possible eta. Hope mine was on the same boat, really looking forward to it.

We've got a really good car at a really good price to take comfort from that.

See who's first to post a piccy :0)

I'm not sure if was actually on a boat or just sat at the docks compound

I only ordered it Tuesday so it would seem very fortune that a boat was leaving that day or its already in the uk

Defo need iron x when it gets here

I ordered my new one (£9995 deal) on 21/2 so hopefully not too long now. I managed to get a candy white one. Having looked at the finance options, i was going for PCP but jut got a good bank loan. Waiting for Trust Skoda Stourbridge to ring so i can confirm the addons.

This is my 2nd roomster (same spec) - when i let a friend loose in it he asked if it was a 1.6 (and he builds sports cars)

Anyway, everyone enjoy your new cars

I reckon the race is on to see who can post a photo first on this thread of their new Roomster :0)

I've got mine, but it's not a £9,995 "Special Edition" SE which is obviously better value.

It's a normal one as I wanted options.

I think the roof rails do look nice on these I'd never use them but I think it completes the look IMO

Roomster looks like that with optional silver roof rails.

Those are 15" wheels with winter tires, 16" alloys was standard for Scout, they're with summer tires.

Skoda Amundsen Sat Nav with DAB & Bluetooth Built-in (£749)
not sure if price includes vat or not
they (DAS AUTO) are offering me £50 for old stereo on top of those costs

That includes fitting. I wouldnt have a clue on that - no DIY ability

Also, all the ones on ebay appear to be 2nd hand, this is brand new with the latest maps

The company specialises in VAG OEM upgrades. Excellent customer service as well so far - happy to answer all my questions. Just need to wait for car now and then decide which to go for
