Perhaps a VW forum would be a better place to ask.

Went to order one today but was told there was a 6 month wait on them. That was at listers Volkswagen. Don't want one before August anyway as can get free insurance when your 25.

the long delay was one of the reasons I discounted VW when I changed mine in car in march

I still have 2 1/2 years on my current PCP deal with my Rapid, but once this is over I will definitely be looking at the Polo GTI. Hopefully get a fair chunk off the list price with it being 2 years down the line as well! If Skoda have released the 1.4TSI or 1.8TSI into the Fabia model range then I will look at this also! But I doubt it, apparently the 1.2 TSI will be the biggest petrol engine for the Fabia, which is REALLY disappointing!

Off for a few days next week, might just hunt one out for a test drive.

A point I asked Skoda UK :

Pick ours up next week.

Had a test drive in one 10 days or so ago and was quite impressed, no it's not a Golf GTi but didn't expect it to be either.

Thought I would Bump this thread up.... Anyone ordered one on here, sorry, I know its not directly Fabia Related! :notme:

It is not a thread in the Fabia section now so that seems fine.

It would be interesting to hear (at least i would be interested)

to know how any member that now has one is getting on with it,

and if it is Manual / DSG, and how it compares with anything they had previously,

Manual , DSG / S-Stronic, Auto etc.

VW UK seems to have just as poor a seller as they had with the 1.4 TSI Polo GTI,

so maybe some Demonstrator or New car bargains will be available soon.

I tried to book a test drive at a local dealership near me, but they only had DSG available, I wanted to test a manual. They got in contact with me and start blabbering on about how full the order book is for this GTI and that if I wanted to order id have to get in pretty quick for the 65 plate etc etc. This didn't really sell the car to me? And I haven't even test drove the thing yet! Kind of put me off a bit, because I know as soon I step into the showroom they'll be all over me. I'm 99% sure they are lying anyway, because I haven't seen a single one about on the roads yet near me and only a few advertised as used on Auto Trader etc.

I've previously had a Seat Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra with the 1.4 TSI DSG and although I loved the DSG it just feels like you aren't in control, if that makes sense! Doesn't feel like you're properly 'driving' the car.

2015 Q1 figures for 2015 show how few Manual (30 ish) & DSG (17) were registered but then they were just launching them, and we will need to wait to see Q2 and how many got registered.

The 2016 Seat Ibiza Cupra with the 1.8TSI engine will need to be keenly priced, but it looks like being only a Manual.

That might suit you if you do not want a DSG.

It'll probably be 3 door format only though! Like the previous Cupra's.... Which is no good with a baby now, that's why I got rid of the old Ibiza :(

I like very much driving a Seat Leon FR 1.8 TSI 180 ps,  and i enjoyed driving it more than a Polo. (not much space in the boot.)

But that was with DSG,  not much difference in speed from a Twincharger, handling a treat compared,

you get a manual and as with all Seats, 'much cheapness' can always be had.

Especially with the Leon FR Being 0% Finance at the moment, worth looking at!

Noticed on VW used website national dealerships last week that they shifted 12 from the 20 shown the previous week. So demo/ used are moving but not sure about new orders and delivery performance

If I were to buy one it would probably be a new one via Drive The Deal or Car Wow as you can pretty much get them at the price of a used one, well the ones up for the sale at the moment anyway! Used finance is always more expensive I find too!

Hows the polo treating you? You should have had the car for a couple months at least now :)

Yes,

Quite enjoying it, covered out 1000 miles's so far. The wife likes it too but does find it on the small side compared with her previous Golf, the boot is ridiculously small so she takes my Yeti for the shopping. The GTI is quick and the power delivery is nice, smooth and linear and if your careful 45mpg on a long journey.

We had a couple of issues with the car, it was delivered with a gouge on the front lower spoiler that I noticed two days after collection, the dealer was excellent, organised the repair,a Golf GTE (very impressive, possibly my next car)for a couple of days and a very generous amount of shopping vouchers.

The interior is a nice place to be, seats are comfortable, steering wheel is great and the infotainment system is excellent.

I have to say much as I really like the Polo GTI it's very firm at the back end, so much so I actually checked to see if the transport blocks had been left in.

I think at the price, it's a great option with its level of performance as I'm not a big fan of Ford's and French cars.

Thought I'd bump this thread up again. Been a few months, I know its a Skoda forum.... but anymore owners around?

Yes in that I have ordered one

No in that it doesn't get built for another 2 weeks so end March early April delivery!
